Since the upcoming R1 edition seems to be non-anamorphic, and since there's no sign of a planned edition in my country, Spain, I'm considering buying the recently released UK edition of THINGS TO DO IN DENVER, but I would like to check the specs first with some of you who already own the disc.
So, is it really anamorphic?
Are there any subtitles? From early reviews, I expect English subtitles at least, but, are they plain subtitles or for the hearing impaired?
And how does it score in the audio/video department?
Thank you all for your kindly cooperation!
:)

This forgotten classic has done really well in its recent R2 budget release.
The picture is anamorphic 1.85:1 and is very good, no compression artefacts and a mostly clean transfer.
The audio is English DD5.1 only and sounds very good. The whole soundstage is used quite well, with adequate use of the sub.
There are both English subs and English For The Hard Of Hearing.
An excellent movie that sits well with the likes of True Romance, Way Of The Gun, Desperado, Pulp Fiction, etc. This is the best it has ever looked/sounded on any format.

Thank you very much for the info, William Shatner's... err... wig.
Gee, I thought I would never meet such a fabled add-on!
And yes, I agree with you: THINGS... IN DENVER is a sadly under rated minor classic, so I will buy this edition.

Grat film, just crying out for some decent treatment. I think I'll eventually get the one suggested above - seem sthe best policy.

Have to agree with the above and say what a fine film "Things..." is.
Christopher Walken plays a fabulously vile character, and the scenes with Treat Williams are a scream:D "I AM GODZILLA AND YOU ARE JAPAN!!!"
