This may help someone who's looking to go to Vegas in August or September as Air France have flights £279 (Gatwick) and £289 (Heathrow)

Looking to find a cheap way of getting to Vegas and some cheap rooms on The Strip for October, so fingers crossed the prices for then start to fall soon :)
Im looking to head there in October too, so like yourself I will be keeping an eye out.
thank god it's too soon for me to be able to go back! :) if this was for next year i probably would've had to go and sell a kidney to pay for this (but then how would i cope with all the free drinkies!)
cracking price (unless you connect back via. LA and Paris in which case, man that's hard work! (mentally))

I know it's been said many times in the Vegas thread but I'll repeat the warning:
Vegas July - mid September is extreme low season because it's UNBELIEVABLY HOT. Average is allegedly 40 degrees, but 45-48 isn't uncommon. You're only a hundred milse or so from Death Valley, which is the hottest place on Earth.
Late September and October are usually fine.

I've been there in late June/Early July when it's been 47C - and that's bloody hot! If you're planning on long walks up and down the strip it's impossible in that heat.

Death Valley is not the hottest place on earth, the hottest place on earth is in Ethiopia.
The heat is fine is July. Its all part of the experience in my opinion. In and out fo the hotels makes it not too bad, plus its a dry heat. Just take big bottles of water everywhere with you and drink loads of it.
I agree, I was there in August last year and its managable unless you want to be walking up and down the strip in the middle of the day.
You get used to 115F after a while and it becomes sort of serene.

The point I'm trying to make is that you don't wanna be strolling down the Vegas strip in your flip flops in Mid August.

I was just stating that you were wrong in terms of death valley being the hottest place on earth.

been there that time before and it's fine - hot yes, but we certainly didn't find it unbearable.
Cant believe the cheap price. Already have a hol booked for early summer, but amazingly tempted anyway.
