Purchased it recently. Although I am a LCD novice, I have found it to be pretty good.

Easy to set up straight out of the box. Not botherered with calibration or anything like that and find picture amazing. Even the sound is good.

No blurring when watching football, and other people who have seen the tv have been impressed by the set.

I guess it says it all as the model is sold out from most retailers.

i'm looking to get a new 1080p tv, can anyone tell me if i need 42fpsWhat are the particular combination of sources you wish to hook up to it? You may be thinking of 24fps which most full hd models support these days; it's useful with native 1080p/24 content such as blu ray as it helps to reduce the judder that would otherwise be introduced by processing up to 60hz.

Prices change constantly (especially with the new models), but have a look at the likes of the Samsung LE40B650 for example - the off axis viewing angle isn't that great compared to some other LCD televisions (i.e. the colours tend to go a bit grey if you aren't viewing it from striaight on) but overall is pretty good television with both SD/HD sources. No LED backlighting as with their higher model ranges though still pretty good black levels. Very close to the otherwise more expensive Sony KDL-40V5500. It looks a bit better than the Samsung LE40A856 IMO (although the latter is pretty thin). Best to go have a look at them in the flesh (along with the Sharp) and then see what you think
