When it comes to viewing family pics, nothing beats the wii on a large LCD. Looks fantastic.

Its really nice to see the date the pic was taken.

The problem I need help with is as follows

in order to fit as many pics as possible onto the SD card, I had nikon capture resize the jpegs to a smaller size.

in the process all the date stamps were changed to the date of this conversion and this is the date showing up on the wii (as well as the picture frame).

How can I resize jpegs while keeping the original date stamps unchanged?

Many thanks

I'd be interested in an answer to this too, as I had a similar problem with viewing pics on XBMC -
- pics from 2 different cameras from same day, in same folder - can sort OK in Windows using EXIF Date Taken field
- want to view them in chrono order on xbmc, but xbmc does not recognise EXIF, so sorts by file's last saved date, which obviously changes if pic is edited

So what I did was to use Picasa :
- to move the 'problem' files to the correct order
- then export the sorted folder to a new folder (resizing along the way)
- then batch rename, to format FILENAME-101
Sounds complex, but was easy for me as I'm familiar with Picasa. You could also use windows - sort by the EXIF date field, then select all and rename appropriately.

So you could do something similar, then manually add the date & comment to a few relevant pics (with Picasa, create a copy then add text).

Before I hit on this method, which worked well for me, I looked into renaming the files automatically with the EXIF date using a batch renamer, and then used a watermark app (Bytescout or Visual Watermark) to add the filename to the pic, so it's visible in a slideshow. But his was fiddly, and introduced its own problems !

I'm not familiar with the Wii, so maybe there's a much easier way (eg: get it to recognise EXIF date). If you stumble across an answer, could you let me know ? :)

Good luck !
