I think the UK release has cut out the squirt scene amongst others

No way!! The best scene of the whole series.

Excellent show by the way, S2 was equally good, if not better.

What? That's ridiculous!, that's one of the season's highlights.

I don't remember this -- what "squirt" scene?

Episode 10 iirc When Hank and Charlie are doing a spot of 'Ménage à trois' Charlie gets 'squirted' right in the face from their female companion.

Has there been a 2nd series? As I remember this was well set at the end to lead into another series but I haven't noticed anything more since!

It's been on in the states, not sure if it's been shown in the UK yet.

You think or you know?
The episode is 18 rated with no cuts made (http://www.bbfc.co.uk/website/Classified.nsf/0/8A8C0E5DDCE5BF1E8025746500582528?OpenDocument) so why would Paramount need to release a cut version?
Did the episode air correctly on Five / FiveUS or whatever here?

Did the episode air correctly on Five / FiveUS or whatever here?I wrote "I think", so no I don't know for sure. I based this thought upon comments at another forum last June by a certain Mr Pooch (not always accurate with his info ;)). I watched the show at the US pace, tend to steer clear of ITV/five, so don't know if UK television aired it uncut (though Pooch states it does ... again I can't vouch for his accuracy).Oh dear,

It seems the UK distributors of Showtime's superb comedy drama series "Californication" (Season 1) got the jitters when releasing the complete first series on UK DVD.

In spite of them knowing that the show would almost certainly get an 18 certificate for its fairly explicit sexual content, explicit language and material about a relationship between the lead character played by David Duchovny and a teenage girl, the distributors decided to pre-cut a scene in Episode 10, depicting female ejaculation.

In spite of the scene showing uncut on Five and the episode is still showing uncut on FiveUS, the UK still gets a lovingly censored version for DVD viewers, of a scene that was both crudely funny, but also deliberately shockingly taboo.

As the episode was pre-cut by Paramount Home Entertainment, who also distribute "Dexter" in the UK, you have to wonder if they have cut that series on DVD also. (The BBFC probably would have left the offending moment in, as it was a 2-second shot at most!)

Pooch - I believe Pooch found this info at the Melon Farmers website
