View Full Version : Printer Recommendations
with my new Kodak camera arriving and some ipoints turned into vouchers I feel its time to retire my trusty canon bjc 4300. I need a replacement for about £120 which will print my photos to a high quality while at the same time not cost the earth to run.
any recommendations
Anything Epson as printer cart replacements are so cheap , i get 2 colour and 2 black for £12.
I'm in a similar position (except I have a worse printer!) - got my Kodak camera coming soon and wanna upgrade the Lexmark Z11 I bought (mistakenly!).
I've been looking for a while now and kinda landed on the Epson 810 - the 895 is more around your price range, although I didn't really see it as worth the extra expense. It merely seems to add direct printing from media card readers, and doesn't seem to be any better quality-wise.
Try taking a look at http://www.ebuyer.com for details.....
Beware that the Epson 810 and 890 cartridges are not as cheap as most other Epson ones. iirc, they use chipped carts which are dearer. :( .
I was going to get an 810 to go with my new DX3700, but decided to get an Epson C40, which imho is very good, if a little slow. These can be picked up for around 60 quid.

epson 880 if u can get hold of one cos i think they have started making the new ones now with little microchips on the carts.
go to www.choicestationary.co.uk and check the price of the carts before you buy.
they are £18.75 for 4 black and 4 colour at the moment and have been for ages. i dont think the ones with the chips are that more but its worth checking out
Ps my printer onluy cost bout £85 and gets astounding reviews
