View Full Version : US Masters 2009
One of my favourite sporting events starts tomorrow. It's usually drama all the way to the 18th on the Sunday. Tiger is back for added spice as well.
The players I will be following this year (also having a flutter on ;) )
all E/W bets.
Geoff Ogilvy 20/1
Lee Westwood 55/1
Stuart Appleby 80/1
Alvaro Quiros 150/1
Jim Furyk 66/1

Preview on BBC2 now
I reckon Harrington might just win it this year. Although last time I predicted a Masters winner was Langer in 93. :)
The only outright I've got is Rory McIlroy @33/1. I haven't got a strong opinion this year, but I do have a load of bets on other markets, ie top yank, etc.
I haven't bet on the Masters in ages but my small Grand National winnigns has been put on the following
All E/W on Paddy Power who are paying the first six
Rory McIlroy @ 33/1
Stewart Cink @ 66/1
Oliver Wilson @ 125/1
My bets are:
Tiger to Win 2/1
Rest at E/W:
Rory McIlroy
Lee Westwood
And 1 who I have completely forgotten but I took him as he was about 150/1.
PVRs at the ready for Red Dwarf as I'll be watching the Masters.
I've gone for:-
Mickelson 8/1
Harrington 16/1
Rose 35/1 (annoyingly out to 66-1 the day later but I'm only betting small anyway)
Villegas 45/1
So is this on BBC HD this year.

My money has gone on a few bets here and there, including some group and match betting, but my main picks are
Retief Goosen 60/1 in a handicap bet
Nick Watney 55/1
Mike Weir 66/1 (placed a while back when he was in form)
Jeev Mikha Singh 150/1 (placed a while back when he was in form)
Also gone for Justin Rose as 1st round leader, and Oliver Wilson as top European (dunno why I did that one though!)
So is this on BBC HD this year.
Yes
Mickelson out in a record equalling 30 and only 1 off the lead
He's been superb today. I have the feeling it's going to get rather tense.
C'mon Furyk !!!!!

Oh yes. Looks pretty damn good too.
Not the best HD you will ever see, but compare this to previous 'overseas' SD broadcasts and it is pretty much amazing.

looks great on the HD. It does have that look though that its so perfect it doesnt always look real.
Probably to early for Tiger to be winning again. And didnt the commentator just do prodcut placement for a car
I just love HD, it's a real drag watching SD material now :(
Furyk just had a nightmare hole there which drops him way down
The leaders are really making very heavy going of it.
If Tiger and\or Phil come home in 5 under they could very well steal it.
Mickelson's and Woods irons into the green at the 15th :notworthy

And then they both fluff it
Great end to a great Masters. After Perry birdied the 16th I could not see him going 5,5
Cabrera wins the playoff after going off into the trees at the first extra hole.
Top stuff.
You make your own luck they say.. playing a pull shot in the woods, hitting the last tree only to bounce of nicely to finish on the green, then having your opponents fluff easy approaches to the green might be stretching it a little.
Perry's daughter looked nice. :n0rty:
Well I had £1 E/W on Sticker to come in the top 6. He was 80/1 but due to the bunch of players that were around him I expect to get back about £2...but better than nothing I suppose. Its 'pending' at the moment.
