Sorry if this has been posted before, just got an email from Ezydyd with this: http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/220131
and the bit that makes me unhappy is this:
"Transfer Format: Pan & Scan"
Now R1 is "Video: Widescreen 2.35:1 (Anamorphic)" so have we any guesses as to what R2 will be??

I'd was also somewhat disappointed to see that the R4 one that ezy has is pan & scan. Does anyone know if there will be a widescreen r4 ? - I'd much prefer PAL to NTSC but I'm not keen on paying for the R2 release which seems to have an rrp of 22.99 given play have R1 for 14.99.

I'm sure Play will be listing the R2 version at about the same price as the R1. Hopefully, they will be listing it next week.

Doesn't look like many people will be buying Harry Potter in R4 then. Here's what ezydvd's web site now says :-

***Please Note: This title is available for region 4 in Pan & Scan only***

There's a furious debate going on at DVDPlaza on this very subject - http://www.dvdplaza.com.au/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14819

The matter remains in search of a definitive resolution, but it doesn't appear good.

It does not appear good at all. Warners appear not to want to release the movie in its entirity in Australia, and will not even give consumers the choice as to whether they want the complete version or Pan and Scan (it is this that really makes me mad).

The argument has begun with Warners has begun. :argue:
