Forgive me if this has come up before (which it probably has but the search function is still out) but my wife would like to know any details of both Grease and Saturday Night Fever on DVD (any release date yet being the main question :) )

Any help MUCH appreciated

saturday night fever is definitely appearing this year,no news on grease though,could be music rights issues involved there,.a lot of paramount stuff from around that era had music changed for the video release,i.e. dracula (1979)same problem prevented blues brothers even appearing on video for many years...

Thanks Sam,at least it looks like one of them will be added to her collection later this year.Shame about Grease tho'

The music rights issues on Grease were solved over a year ago when Olivia Newton John settled for a bigger share of the soundtrack royalties. So unless someone else is after a share of the musical pie, I can only think Paramount are either stalling, or the movie needs some restoration work before release.

I'd like the VH1 Behind The Scenes documentary on Grease to make it to the DVD, or I'll have to make do with my off-air VHS for now.

The search function has been turned back on by the way for over a week (one search every 5 minutes is allowed).

Wasn't a restorated Grease released about 5 years ago on Laserdisc & VHS?:confused:

So why are Paramount stalling? They'd make pots of money from releasing Grease alone. :confused:

25 th Anniversary next year isn't it, so very likely?

Likelyhood of these?
P&S version........animated menus
W/S version (in wrong ration)......as above

3 months later
Same but with photos from the film

3 months later "CE" with trailer

3 months later "UE" with Grease 2 trailer

3 months later another version.....and so on for years to come

2020 Decent version released, but DVD format so outdated no-one ever buys it.....
