You're a VIP in need of some serious protection. You can choose 5 people from any TV series from any time period to protect you. You'll need to consider their combat abilities, trustworthiness and ability to work as a team. They need to be human + normal so no Super-Heroes or Terminators allowed!

My choices:

1) Jack Bauer (24) - Team Leader
2) Mahone (Prison Break)
3) Sayid (Lost)
4) Hawkins (Jericho)
5) Michael Westen (Burn Notice)

I think that lot could just about avoid tearing each other apart, and they're all a bit tasty armed or unarmed :)

And on Jack Bauer... I don't think his heart would really be in it. Unless some kind of terrorist threat was involved I think guarding you - me or whoever - just wouldn't hold any interest for him he would be on his C game at best.

Far better to go for characters that would be easier to motivate... those who need the money for example or otherwise down and out and wanting a second chance of things and won't spend all day wondering what wild animal their daughter might run into:

Good cover of combat abilities, espionage and tech there I feel with a team that could work together with the right motivations and without *too* much friction. Bit 24 heavy but I couldn't think of a better tech than Chloe and Mandy is one of the best mercenaries in the business.

Naah, you'd only have to graze his daughter/dog/wife with a stray bullet, and the tears would be flowing. Hard to hit anyone with a bullet or a punch if you can't see straight. ;)
Having noticed in other posts Sarah from Chuck, I'd choose her and as long as I got to spend a night with her, I'd let whoever was after me kill me. I'd die happy. :D

1. Samantha Carter "Stargate SG-1" - that's covered off leadership and tactics, definitely a team player.

2. Aeryn Sun "Farscape" - hand to hand combat plus bit of extra-terrestrial experience is always useful. Can take orders.

3. Jaime Sommers "Bionic Woman" - she can open any jars if we're in hiding underground for an extended period of time. If I'm in that much trouble, she can sling me over her shoulder and run away, very fast. Ok, this one is the wild card when it comes to teamwork, but I'd take that chance...

<strike>4. Temperance Brennan "Bones" - definitely the brains of the operation, medical training, and I'd even let her have a gun. Possibly a challenger to Carter's command, but her own logic would put her back in her place.</strike>
4. Dana Scully "X-files" - medical training, guns use, a 'proper' badge-carrying FBI agent (not a civilian side-kick) always carries a flashflight.

5. Sidney Bristow "Alias" - covert and counter ops, espionage, languages and outfits. And guns. Used to playing in a team.
