Hi, I got my Sony 900 DVD this morning, it is multiregion and RCE compatible.

I have a 21" Panasonic TV in my bedroom and I am using a fully wired scart lead.

When I turn the DVD on I hear the clicks it makes, then the tv switches to the AV channel and then back to the channel it was on. When I press AV on the TV the picture is blank as if their was no DVD connected.

When I press the display button on the Sony DVD remote the picture then comes on.

I have got the output set to RGB on the DVD player. I have not had any problems with the DVD while watching movies in fact the picture and sound is amazing.

Many thanks to all that reply or help

(I have a philips pronto remote, so I can program it to turn the dvd on and after a second delay press display then after half a second press display to turn the display settings off and then no problems, but I should not have to do this!)

go here (http://www.homecinemachoice.com/news/index.html), go down to the search facility and click DVD hardware News for reports on Sony's DVP NS 900 woes

This isn't thw switching problem which has been cured.

I am assuming you mean when you turn on the DVD at the ON/OFF button on the front panel. When you press in the switch it sort of comes on (green light) then back into stanndby (red light). I assume this is normal.

Merely pressing PLAY or DISPLAY should then turn it on etc and the switching signal will move to the AV on the TV.

This is a very different issue to the RGB switching problem which is now cured I believe.

I have one of these players and they really are good!

not an answer to your query but i and others find the ns900 gives a better picture through s-video, via scart or s-video lead.
