View Full Version : Sony CDX CA850 in-car cd any good ?
Whats the Sony CDX CA850 like (anyone got it) ?
Is it totally controlled via the remotes or does it have controls on the reverse face (saw this model in halfords but it's covered by a chunk of plastic so I couldn't get a good look at it) ?

a friend has the tape version (800) of this one, the sound is very good. no buttons on the back i'm afraid but the steering remote is intuitive and works well
EDIT - he bought his from Car Electronics (http://www.cel-direct.com) with a 10 disc changer for £240 should you want one..

Thanks for replying,
I will most proberly go for the CA850 (I can get it for £165), I was considering the M610 (the one with the all black front face) but decided against it as the front can't be removed.

not meaning to put a downer on ur purchase but i've had 3 sony cd head units all of which have been terrible for jumping, not reading cd's - personnally i'd buy a second hand kenwood or pioneer head unit as these are a lot less sensitive to bumps in t road

I have had a couple of Sony head units before and not had any problems with jumping etc.
