Looks like it's me again!!

Usual rules apply:
* The competition runs from midnight Wednesday 11th March to 10pm Wednesday 25th March. Photographs must be taken during that period only and submitted to me by the 10pm deadline on Wednesday 25th March.
* A voting thread will be posted with all pictures in and people will be able to vote for their top three pictures from the selection until 10pm Wednesday 1st April.
* Points are awarded as follows: 1st Place: 5 Points, 2nd Place: 3 Points, 3rd Place: 1 Point. In the event of two entries receiving the same number of points, the number of 1st place votes will decide the winner.
* The winner will then host the competition for the following week.
Format for Submissions
Submitted pictures must be 200kb or less and 800 pixels max on the longest edge (including any frames). Panoramics will be accepted as long as the combined width and height are no greater than 1400 pixels.
Please ensure you include the following in your email (along with the correctly sized picture):
DVD Forums Username:
Title of Picture:
Date Taken:
Camera / Lens:
Exif Information: shutter speed / aperture / focal length / ISO
Entries accepted up until 10pm deadline on Wednesday 25th March

i stopped submitting because a lot of pictures in the ( week round ?) had been posted just previous in forums and also you also get know people's style's )
(so every one going to have something to say about this post)
WHY cant they just post them in the picture of the week so it ombiguish (total bad spelling) hopefuly no one know's
so it may keep people guessing
i have posted lots of pic's in the general side
but would not post in the weekly comp (also do not get many replie's apart from 1 or 2 )
had this rant a while ago but it hard Work for who ever hoast's it
thnk it time to come p with a new format ao something

Without sounding like I'm taking the ****, but I didn't understand most of that post. The only bit I could figure out is, you say when people post their pics in the perpetual thread and then in the POTW thread they have revealed who took the picture?:thinking: I don't see why that matters, if a photo is good and captures my interest than I'll vote for it. Regardless of who took it.

i post .. dont come up very good in the comps ( i know i won 2 laast year but my last post had no points ) .. but it is good to see others and how i fair against them .. some of the pictures i guess who has posted .. but most of the time not got a clue .. dont follow the ongoing picture post... my ones just got lost in the sea of them .. but i give my points to the one that looks the best and that is my choice what i like to look at ... not who is on my flick groups or who is top .. just on the picture ..

Same here, I've only entered the POTW on one occasion and was surprised to get a couple of votes for a picture that was average at best. Its nice just to participate to be honest, I'd enter more frequently but I've been completely lazy/uninspired lately:help:

Personally, I try and post pictures I hadn't posted elsewhere but I really don't mind. It's not like I'm going to vote for picture Y because it was taken by X. If I like it, I like it. :shrug:
With the ongoing PAD, I'll hopefully have something to submit closer to the deadline.

Isn't this a bit premature? The other thread states that voting is open until the 18th of March.

And? That's POTW 4. This is for POTW 6 which means the winner of POTW 5 winner hosts it. This is getting tedious :D
The winner of POTW 5 will start POTW 7.

No it doesn't. The hosting is done a fortnight in arrears. I think we actually know what we are doing but thanks for the helpful advice

Why would someone not enter the competition because photographs in the comp have already been posted on the forums? (not that they would know this anyway) I've never took into consideration who the photographer is when voting although on many occasions I know already, either by style, Flickr or because they posted them on the forums prior to the comp.

Yeah, the confusion came from when we switched from weekly to fortnighly comps.

If you were bestest buddies and there was a prize up for grabs, then I guess votes would go wonky :lol: I have seen it done on other forums when cash or a nice prize is up.

A couple (Common & commjo2) are slightly too big, so have resized them. If you want to resubmit your own resized version, please feel free to do so. Remember 800 px max on the longest side please.
