Is Sky down for anyone?

Just had a call from my wife, apparently her parents' Sky+ box is saying "no satellite signal" and not able to receive any channels. She's checked that all the cables are still plugged in. Could it be that Sky is down, or is that a daft idea?


Should have told her to try the old "turn it off then on again" faithful technique...

If I have this I do the 'ol turn off and wait 20 secs then back on. Works everytime :)

Would be pretty disasterous for Sky to be "down" :eek: Channels go off air from time to time, even whole transponders (groups of channels) but the whole system...did I say :eek: :D

Try what jonpeat says and it should sort out the problems - alternatively get the missus to call Sky and go through their diagnostics (which will include turning off the power to the box)...

Same here, and a fellow worker said his wasnt working this morning....
