Just to join in. I have a Sony DVPNS700 and am wondering if its wise to get it chipped. Its only a few months old and still has most of the guarentee left to run. The other thing is that I'm in Dublin - does anyone know of anywhere that chips dvd players here?.
Thanks,
Mick

I'm going with Tridek next week, mainly because they use a half decent courier (UPS), there's no way I'd let City Link or Parcel Farce anywhere near my player.

as we can offer diy "no solder" mods for many players there is no need for any courier to go near your player

"No Solder" diy mod is possible .. just not been added to the website yet ... it wont give RCE compatibiity though

No solder upgrades for Sony 335/6 535/6 and 735 are now available from the No Solder section of my site .... cost around £50 with £10 back when you return the tool ... not RCE compatible.
Steve I have a friend who wants her 735 to play MR. Your no solder upgrades pretty easy to do but on your website it says only do it if your qualified. Can it be that hard? If it is how much is it for me to send it to you to do the job?

It's not hard to do .. anyone could do it
BUT
I cannot encourage unqualified persons to play around inside their DVD players .... basically the warning is there for that (legal) reason

Sorry but the words "UPS" and "half decent courier" don`t go in
the same sentence! Been there, used them, got the teashirt! No such thing as a decent courier these days:(

So can you give me details of what I plug into the dvd player. If it's messing around inside then I won't bother but if it's a case of plugging in something then bob's your uncle i'll get her to order.
E-mail me if you don't want to put details here.
