Just wondering if anyone has got this disk yet and have any comments on it? I know that it has a commentary with director Ruggero Deodato (who later directed the infamous Cannibal Holocaust).

Never even knew that it was out, but I still fondly remember those crazy Italian flicks from my childhood. Also looking forward to getting my hands on the release of "Cannibal Apocalypse" in a few weeks!

Anyone recommend a UK supplier that stocks this stuff, apart from DC-DVD? They like to take their time when sending disks out to you.

Yep, thats the one. A very underrated film IMO, and I'm pretty sure its one of the only Cannibal films from the "gore" genre that dosent have any animal killing in it.

Anyhoo, cheers for the 2 other links, but I have started bidding on a sealed copy of Jungle Holocaust on eBay, and just went ahead and pre-ordered Cannibal Apocalypse from dc-dvd, since their pre orders are cheaper.

The disk delivered woks out at £17.71. :)

Jungle Holocaust was definitely one of the better cannibal films, I have had the disc for probably a couple of years, it's as good as it gets until theres an Ultra edition or the like out.

I'd order it from www.dvdpacific.com where it's available for just over £10 delivered. I've never had an order under £18 stopped by customs from them.

Just as an aside, I have (The Paul Verhoeven Collection) so they're not customs-proof.

What are these guys like for delivery times? Are there likely to be any problems with customs from them?

It's too late for Jungle Holocaust as it's already been dispached by Pacific but I may want to use them at some point.

Crikey!

They have four versions of Cannibal Holocaust! I'm immediately discounting the cut Vipco UK disc.

But they also have an NTSC Region 0 German 1 disc, a PAL Italian Region 2 1 disc (the most expensive) and a 2 disc PAL Region 0 German Limited Edition!

Looks like the 2 disc is OOP. And the Italian LE has forced Italian subs on English playback and the commentaries are in Italian.

The NTSC German edition is pretty bare with only trailers, gallery and director interview but the transfer is at least anamorphic at 1.85:1.

I'm loathed to order due to the possible customs issues though. It's not worth the risk. They jump on anything with the word "holocaust" on it :oh-hum:

Do they? I doubt very much that it is on their 'list' these days.

I've read of at least one member here who had copies from Xploited confiscated very recently.

The film contains scenes of animal torture/death which are still illegal under UK law.

This is different to films like 'Last House on the Left' - where although the film is not rated uncut in the UK, private ownership of the film is not illegal.

I'm in Europe (Paris and Amsterdam) over Easter, and might try to pick up a copy of CH. Does anyone know how readily avaliable, in shops, this film is? And any advice re:French or Dutch releases of the film.

Cheers.

I bought this single Dutch disc on Ebay a couple of weeks ago for £12,
I'm 99% sure it's fully uncut.

I've never had any problem with poker, they'll even mark down the customs value if you ask them.
But be warned if customs find you importing cannibal holocaust, they'll confiscate it.

George vader, the difference between this version and the longer ultrabit version(which is 3 seconds longer) is because of print damage not because it's been cut by censors.
If you want the full ultabit version you can find it here (http://www.machiaveldvd.com/main.cfm?p=detail&l=en&PRODUIT_ID=1332&CAT_ID=&type=)

If you are in Paris.

You will probably find the uncut 2 disc edition in FNAC or maybe Virgin for around €15.00.

If you are lucky there may be the older uncut 1 disc for €5.00 if it's only the film you want.

As long as it is not the UK Vipco version then yes. As for how good the film is, I love it, prob my fav Italian Cannibal flick after the mighty Holocaust. A few will disagree though! Not sure if anyone else has released it again in the last few years but the Grindhouse version has some decent extras and good enough picture.

Vipco has 7+ minutes cut from it. Barney is probably more violent now.

Haven't watched it yet but most reviews have been very positive.

Very expensive though :oh-hum:

I've had a copy of cannibal holocaust confiscated by customs when i bought it from xploited,I think customs will open any parcel from xploited(because they know what type of films they sell).
