I can't give you the books as mine dissappeared when I used them but I can give you the completionist achievement if that's any good.

Anyone having any problems with this freezing / crashing? It's only happened since I got my fixed 360 back (RROD) and doesn't happen with any other games.

When I try to view a property it freezes or moves really slowly, and sometimes doesn't load up. Annoying.

MrSpeed
16-03-2009, 11:46
Not had that problem so far...though I have a couple of properties that the sign outside highlights green, but the option to do anything with it doesn't appear :?:

The only time I've had it slow up is when I go near the guy with the lute that offers to sing a song about you. He starts his speech asking to sing and everything slows down while I try to walk away from him.

I havent had it crash or freeze, but there are still quite a few bugs - it slows down massively after i sleep sometimes, and sometimes the Left Trigger doesnt appear to do anything even tho it is if you press the other buttons (although you don't know which buttons!)

point blank
16-03-2009, 16:31
It has only completely frozen once on me and that was while I was playing co-op during a combat where I had to reboot the xbox. It slows down quite often while you are near people giving you options to do something, for example Bards (lute players) or the shooting range when walking away from the bloke offering you to take part, the slowness only lasts until the 'press A' disappears.

Knothole did indeed have some good dungeons :)

Can anyone help me with the last two achievements I need: The Completionist, and The Executioner (which I can't get since I chose to support the Temple of Light early on and destroyed the Temple of Shadows).

If anyone doesn't mind doing these bits on co-op that would be great.

New DLC confirmed for May at 560 MS points (of course knowing lionhead and there delays it wont get released till july )
Details + Screenshots...
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/second-batch-of-fable-ii-dlc-revealed

Dubbed See the Future, the main story revolves around three cursed items possessed by Murgo the Trader. In investigating these, players will once more control the fate of Albion, and eventually be rewarded with a glimpse into the future and what awaits those born into the heroic bloodline.

Key attractions in See the Future include the Colosseum arena, which apparently puts the previous Crucible challenge to shame, and Murgo the Trader with his wide array of exotic wares - like a potion that turns dogs into different breeds.

There are also some new quests; one involves a town trapped within a snow globe, and another features a cursed knight whose torment needs ending.

On top of that are new legendary artefacts, creatures, clothes, hairstyles, make-up, expressions, tricks and collectibles.

More of the same really...but that's a good thing imho. If you enjoyed Fable 2 (and Knothole Island DLC), then you will definately enjoy this.

I've only had 1 quick go so far, but it was like slipping into a pair of comfortable slippers after months of wearing hobnail boots :D

I knew that at some point there would be an achievement for opening all the demon doors...I think I could be asking some questions about some of them as I was stuck at a few before

Overall, quite a bit of additional content and lots of carrots! :)

Regarding the dog I have seen 3 types, husky, bloodhound and dalmation, all on my good character and available from Murgo. One after completing each cursed item task

I just have the 'defeat the necromancer' achievement to do now which I'm not having a lot of luck with. The latest DLC pack has been a welcome return to the world of Fable 2, a fair bit to do and some good achievements to help you get the most out of it. (and finally a reason to finish off the last few Demon Doors).

jdw
14-05-2009, 07:01
You probably arent downloading the premium version. I think the version you're downloading is the co-op pack so you can play co-op with someone else who has the content in the new areas in the downlaod. If you want to play the new missions yourself, you need the premium version.

Well, done everything. Well, nearly, I knew not doing the Demon Doors would catch up with me. My only 100% game achievement wise so got to do it!

Really enjoyed this, loved the little secrets here and there. Thought the black and white world was very well done graphically.

I notice they've given even more help with the acheivements given that the dog tricks and expressions you needed Pub Games for can be found now.

cjanderson

just started it. should i download any DLC from the start? or just play the main mission and then add stuff when i am doing all the other quests? don't like the maps so far, pretty unfriendly, but at least they tell you how many things you are missing finding in each area, which is nice.

like fallout 3 and its quantum bottles, anything i should make sure i do from the start? i am exploring and finding stuff and about to go and fight a bandit. does it tell you each time you can "level up" and use your XP on stuff?

punisher46
25-05-2009, 06:58
CJ, personally I would leave them both until you have completed it. Knothole is easy enough, but for the Future and beyond you need to have the best weapons and be very powered up.

Best advice I can give is just enjoy it. It's one of those few games where it's even more fun to play through the 2nd time. You may even want to do a 3rd as there are 3 possible endings....

You get a message that tells you that you can level up and you'll get an icon pop up on the d pad bottom left of the screen.

I missed one of the knothole books but I guess I can change the weather and go after it again?

cjanderson
25-05-2009, 09:08
I won't be doing it 3 times!! once only.

have discovered the levelling up, silly i sometimes forget to collect orbs after fighting as well.

have got the hang of the map as well, which makes jumping around a bit quicker now i have opened up paths.

seems like its impossible to not do your objective, given the lights on the ground. Though the dog once ran off with a $$$ quest above her head, not sure what that was all about?

kanedaa
25-05-2009, 09:29
You can turn the breadcrumbs off if you want, and you can change your current objective in the pause menu.

You can get all 3 endings without playing through 3 times. Just bring up the guide during the end sequence and quit to the dash. Boot the game, load last save point, make a different decision, get a different ending/achievement. Repeat. Just make sure you choose your favoured ending when you let the credits roll fully and the game saves once they're over.

The only achievement that can be missed in single-player is sacrificing 10 people at the Temple of Shadows. If you take the good path then at a certain point you can no longer sacrifice anyone. However, like pretty much all of the achievements, you can get this by watching someone else do it in a co-op game.

i never thought i'd be asking the dvd forums this.

but i have myself a cute hubby, and he wants some sex, but being a female, i don't want to be pregnant, where do i get me some condoms?

and he is living in my gypsy caravan, where can i get some furniture for it?

i jeep whipping my gun out in towns, which is annoying.

ohh, once you have done THE FINAL QUEST, can you keep playing from there? to get all the other achievements?

MrSpeed
25-05-2009, 11:43
Condoms can be bought from quite a few of the market venders throughout Albion...and are also found by digging them up as treasure

You can buy furniture from the furniture stall in Bowerstone market...just across from the clock tower and near the pie stall.

Once you've done the final quest, you can still keep playing...there's quite a lot still to do tbh, and that's not even including the dlc.

Gimme a shout if you catch me online and I can gift you a few things over if you want...I even have a few spare condoms

Make sure you hit every multiplier as soon as it appears (even if it means running to other side of it), and the chickens help as well but I did it without realising they were there! Charge up a wide area spell at the start to get rid of the beetles. Err, and just keep swinging? Assume you're using the Daikatana or similar - powerful and quick?

Finally got all the Demon Doors for the last acheivement. Took me a while (and one game crash!) to eat and drink enough to get corrupt enough for the penultimate one!

I assume you're referring to a particular mission making them go white? Can't remember that one :?:

As for the gifts, if the picture is slightly translucent, then you need to affect that person in some way to get them to give you the gift. I think it's Left Trigger when facing them, then Y when you see their name. You get 3 bars showing how much they like/fear/love/etc you, and one of those will have the picture of the present on. Get the bar to that level and they'll give you the present. If you're already at that level, the present picture above their head will we opaque and hitting A on them will get them to give it to you.

Having typed all that... I don't think I ever bothered doing this! :)

You can't furnish your caravan, but save the furniture for your first house. I recommend the house next to the bookstore in Bowerstone Market, you get some good bonuses from that plus you'll always be passing through there to keep your hubby happy :luv:

2 things still to do in the Coloseum:

1)Kick 5 chickens while wearing a chicken suit...where's the best place to buy a chicken suit?

He appears after the tough spire dudes which is after the Banshee I think. I did it with 3 seconds to spare so it is tough. He teleports all over the place so a decent ranged weapon helps. One thing to note is that when you think you've killed the wave of bandits is that some of them hang around the edges in the mist shooting at you, don't miss them. When going for this, ignore the multipliers and just kill kill kill!

As for the chicken suit, I already had one, so not sure where to get. Murgo got one?

point blank
25-05-2009, 21:52
You get the Chicken suit as a prize from the web game on the Fable2 web site and collect it from the fable2.com chest in the guild while playing the game. (3 crowns at the end with a different prize depending on which you chose, do it 3 times for all the prizes).

If you have the 'slap' expression, you could use that on her...that usually puts people off you :D You could even try using a few scary expressions...or take the safety off and kill her ;)

how can you wait?

i always turn up at places just as the shops close and have to wander around until they open. I just want to stand there and wait for the right time.

Is there any benefit to opening demon doors and getting the right expression for the statues, no achievements for it, unless they give you something you need for one of them.

MrSpeed

If I get somewhere just as the shops close and I want something from them, I find the nearest bed and sleep for 12 hours...shops are then open AND your health is topped up :)

With the new DLC there is an achievement for opening all the Demon Doors...which I haven't done yet :(

How do I get more expressions?

There's quite a few to be found in the bookstore in Bowerstone market...and at traders stalls too. Some are also given to you by completing certain quests as well.

iirc, I've got quite a few expression books that I can pass on to however wants them. I'll have a look what I've got next time I'm on the 360

Another one that's just started this. Found it incredibly addictive so far. I've just got into the temple of the shadows - have to decide whether my so-far-mostly good character is going to turn to evil.

I do keep on unleashing magic accidentally when I press B too many times or press it to clear something when that's not how it works! Despite that I have a veritable harem following me round whenever I go to Bowerstone - I have about 8 or 9 characters in love with me there! Most of them seem to be hussys too - keep on getting propositioned for sex. ;)

I just need 2 achievements for the full 1000 now and then I can move onto the DLC
1/ Kill 10 people at the shadow temple - earlier in the game I sided with the temple of light so I dont have the option for this anymore
2/ Collect all hero dolls - No idea what these are, not found any in any of the shops yet
If anyone can help with these would be much appreciated

Ooo! I'd like the dolls too please! If I could get in on it that'd be fantastic! I'm going away this weekend, so sort everyone else out first, but I thought I'd throw my name into the hat while the subject is being discussed! Not got anywhere near all the other achievements yet, but getting the dolls would be really appreciated as I'm going to attempt the 1000GP on this given how much I've been enjoying it. (I will probably get dlc too, but just focusing on the main game for now.)

Can I just confirm - if you get the 'see the future' dlc you can get the expression/trick previously only available in the pub games, enabling you to get the completionist achievement yourself without pub games? I'm not getting it just for that, obviously, just checking that I don't need to be worried about watching someone else get it rather than getting it myself.

well done the main story now and have no missions left bar something about the reavers tower.

oh the shadows of the dark one.

think i'll just clear up a few more achievements (for drinking and lute playing) and then give up, to get all the keys/gargoyles would mean buying all the house, which means 1m gold, which is just months of grinding to get.

was fun for a while, just not as satisfying as fallout/oblivion. not telling you where to go on missions (you can follow the glowing trail but that could be an hour of walking when you;d want to fast travel) and the achievements are all too interlinked - you can't find all gargolyes easily as some of them are within houses that you can't buy.

gothi
26-07-2009, 11:16
Use your existing money to buy as many houses as you can and rent them out. Come back to the game after a few days of not playing, bank the cash from your rent and buy a few more houses to rent out then switch the game off again. Repeat until you have more money than you know what to do with :D

Wendelius

It shouldn't take you months to get 1 million gold. I started buying houses and businesses bit by bit as I was playing. Cheap ones first and then more and more expensive ones. This would accumulate money I'd invest in more houses and so on. Now, if I don't play for a day, I get about 100,000 gold when I start the game the next day. And I still have many more houses and businesses to get. So, as I keep buying stuff, it will just add up faster and faster.

Or you can do it the cheesy way. Apparently, you can buy as many houses as you can afford, save, forward the clock of your 360 a few years, start the game and collect your earnings. I find that cheap and would never try it but if you want all the achievements...

I'm currently fighting my way through the crucible. Not sure how far along that is in the story but I'm enjoying it a lot so far. Superb game.

Played through this recently having avoided it since release as a game I wouldn't be into. Turns out it's been great fun, particularly playing with a friend as my henchman!

Anyway, I still need a Garth Doll for the achievement. I don't suppose anyone wants to lend/give/trade me theirs do they? I have a spare Reaver doll i'd be happy to swap for it.

Is this game quite tame at the start... ?

i.e. Can i play the first hour or so with the kids in the room or do i need to slaughter villagers with a blunt sword!

Just about to put it on. :D

its very tame at the start and its hardly violent throughout from what I remember

Cutscene after the first playable bit is a bit  from memory, but not in an ultra-violent kind of way, so should be ok.

Although you do get to hit people with a toy sword, so that might not be what you want teach the kids :D

Is this game worth buying still? Got a £20 voucher for HMV for xmas from my brother in law and wanna buy summat, was gonna get Assasins Creed with it but as I still havent completed the first I think ill wait for that to come down in price somewhat.

I think I saw this fairly cheap for the GOTY edition in HMV over the weekend so could pick it up, thoughts?

I think it definately is. One of my fave games of 2009.....its a nice steady paced game that you can jump into for 10 mins or hours at a time....

Have just completed the main game, and notice that there is a free version and a paid for version of this DLC is there any difference in the 2?

The free version is basically an update which is required if you want to play co-op with someone who purchased the paid for version. It does not allow you to visit Knothole Island (in single-player or co-op) and does not have any of the new quests etc.

I might need a hand with a few, do you have all the dolls?

MrSpeed

I've not got all the Dolls...but I'm pretty sure someone on here has. I've got a couple (I think) and you can have any that I've got in my inventory.

I've also got a save on my 'evil character' that is in the Temple of Shadows with 10 people ready to be sacrificed if you need 'The Executioner' achievement.

lettuce
24-03-2010, 20:25
i have the executioner achievement already, thanks anyway. I need all the co-op achivements though. Is there an easy way to get the, reach 100% good or evil, and reach 100% purity or corruption?

MrSpeed

iirc, donating a certain amount of gold (at a certain time) at the Temple of Light made my good character rank up very quickly. I can't remember the amount or time though :brickwall

Finally got round to playing and finishing the DLC on this as well. All in all I really enjoyed the whole game - dlc included (and the fact that I picked it up when it was 30% off just makes it even better!) DLC could have been a bit longer, but like I said, 30% off, so was happy with it. Plus I really enjoyed the colosseum, which was unexpected as I was expecting to be a bit rubbish at it and find it frustrating!

Does anyone have the dolls? I have Theresa and Lucien and would love to get the others/see someone else get them all - it's my last remaining achievement on the game. (Oh, and that means, if anyone wants help with colourist/completionist etc. then I can help out with those). And this is now the second time in about a week I've got to within one achievement of finishing the game and then come on here, but at least with this one the only way to get it is by sharing online!

I need the colourist achievement (only need that one and open all demon doors). I don't know how many/which dolls I have though...will have a look.

Mr Speed, my GT is Mills2501 so add me and send a message and I'll get you the colourist achievement.

I should technically be able to get another doll, as I never got the Westcliff shooting range one. However I am awful at it, and don't see that I'll ever get the points needed! Still, I'll keep trying and maybe we'll be able to get them all between a few of us.

How does the dlc work mate. I have got to a point were the game says there is no turning back and I have yet to see or do any dlc. Saw a boat in the town that take you to the island. Does the other dlc happen after you finish the game ??

Mills
14-04-2010, 18:24
I did all the DLC after I'd finished the main story, but I believe it opens up at different stages according to where you are in the main story (I'm not sure where, but I'm sure at least one of the activation points is after the quest you've just got to). So you can either do it all together at the end of the game, or you can do it in stages as your game progresses.

Definitely, especially for the GOTY edition!

Also, I've had some success on the doll front - finally managed to get the one on the shooting range (meaning I now have Reaver in addition to Lucien and Theresa). I've made arrangements to get the ones I'm missing so if that does work out ok I'll be happy to pass the achievement on to SGP_Mustang and anyone else that wants it.
