Someone is trading these in the Classifieds. I have heard them mentioned a great deal but know virtaully nothing about them other than the latter is somewhat soft-porny?? Can anyone fill me in or recommend then plus give me an idea of price.

I've seen em both & they both have their flaws.

BichunMoo: I thought this film was pretty decent, but could have been great! If only the story made more sense :( Still, HKL are releasing this title soon, so wait for that version. Hopefully it'll be the directors cut, which may well eradicate most of the problems I had with the film! :)

Urotsukidoji: Ah, the good old early days of Manga! I've seen the British versions of the first half of the series? The first one has a kind of fun, slightly camp, nature to it, but the 2nd was quite boring! You could do a lot better (& worse!) than this when it comes to Anime, that's for sure. If you've seen Wicked City & enjoyed that, you might enjoy this. I believe the fullest English version of Urotsukidoji is the "Perfect" R1 boxset jobby that costs quite a bit?? i dunno, can't give much advice on this one!

Ah my expert subject.. Hentai (Adult Manga)

Urotuskidoji is a 4 part series..

1-3 were released in the UK but with heavy censoring (especially 3) no 4 was never released due to extreme situations (tentacle sex, violence etc)

There's also 2 R1 sets the first is the Perfect Collection which has the first 2 films and with an extra unseen 50+ minutes BUT this is censored extra

And the one you WANT is Urotsuidoji - Hell on Earth (r1)
It has all 4 films complete and UNCENSORED but let me assure you now it's not for the faint hearted (i.e definately NOT soft-core) very Hardcore..

DC-DVD sell it for £80 (steep)
or Adult DVD box office have it for around £55

Urotsukidoji 1 - good story
2 - not as good
3 - increased sexual/violence
4 - very hardcore

Anime 18 is the R1 distributor for Urotuskidoji so are Uncensored you can get it for about £10 new so anything less than £8 is a deal..

I had the hardcore version of Urotsukidoji for about a week before I got rid of it. I just couldn't find anything to redeem the amount and level of violence and sex - I'm about as open minded as you can get but this was just too much. It wouldn't have been so bad if the story had made some kind of sense.

As for Bichunmoo - an excellent film, but be sure to pay complete attention when you're watching it as the direction is quite sloppy and it's easy to miss important plot points. When I had finally worked out what the hell was going on (about 20 mins before the end) I loved it to bits. Not a film to watch when you're drunk (as I found out).

Forgive me as this isn't my expert subject, but I think you've got these the wrong way round. Urotsukidoji was originally a five part series which is what you will find on the Perfect Collection - all five 50 minute episodes in the original Japanese and with subtitles.

These five episodes were then edited together, with half the storyline cut, to make the first two movies which are only available dubbed.

I can't trace the origins of three and four but more info about the first two can be found at www.animeondvd.com

I'm hoping that the reason the plot isn't well laid out is because the film had to be cut to fit more showings per day at the box office, so hopefully if HKL release the Directors Cut you won't have to sit & think about wht the hell's going on at certain stages in the film!

So obviously it might be EDITED for 1 long movie but it's massively cut..

I will agree with Carryonline in some respects although i'm a fan of "Hentai" Urotuskidoji is at the extreme end of it.. Definately not for the squeamish.. But remember it's just animation.. Not real.. Thank god..

Dear oh dear, you can certainly see why Manga pushed the sex&violence aspect of Anime here in the UK can't you! It seems we get a thread about which is the foulest, most uncut version of Urotsukidoji each week :D

I'm afraid everyone's getting a little mixed up here....here is what I believe to be a more accurate breakdown of the sets available to you....

The Perfect Collection = As has already been said by Edge, this is the original 5 OAVs that were released in Japan. These were then cut and edited into what we in the UK know as 'Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend' and 'Urotsukidoji II: Legend of the Demon Womb'. Both of these films were edited for story and sex&violence removing nearly an hours worth of material from the original OAVs.

Hell on Earth Box set = Contains the edited/cut movies or Urotsukidoji 1 & 2 (English dub only) plus the fully uncut series of Urotsukidoji 3 & 4 - all of these can be bought separately.

Which means, the best combination to see the series as it was meant to be seen is...

The Perfect Collection + Urotsukidoji 3 & 4

Which gets you the most uncut version there is available of the series.

I have the perfect collection, and boy let me tell you, it is seriously strong stuff. There is a decent story in there, once you get past the endless rape scenes that appear every 15 mins or so...yes it is incredible the 1st time you see it, but believe me you're way better off with movies like akira and ghost in the shell..

If you're talking about tentacle sex and all the other nasty bits - well you WILL find them on the perfect collection - BUT you have been warned!!
