Have you heard them both?

My personal preference is Kenwood, always had them and always been top quality. Last Kenwood system lasted 12 years and still sounded tops but wanted to upgrade to DTS amp.

Would recommend listening to them and make your own mind up tho.

I have the Sherwood 6106 and the sound quality is pretty damn good. John316 is right about the DTS ability of the 6106. Haven't heard the Kenwood in action though. They are both good first av receivers for your first home theater system.

I was looking for a budget amp and, after reading a few reviews and asking people on here, went for the Kenwood.

It's cracking unit for the price - with plenty of inputs. The DTS and DD sound is great - the only thing I don't overly like is the crappy remote :(

But for the price - you can't go far wrong - better to listen to them both though mate and decide that way :)
