View Full Version : DVDBoxOffice - do they ever have anything in stock?
Has anyone ordered anything from them and actually got it through first time round with no back order emails?
I ordered City of Lost Children god knows how long ago now, not something youd expect to sell out instantly, and they still dont have it in stock.
Anyone know of a supplier who actualy has a copy in stock i could get it form instead.

DDDHOUSE had the R3 version in last week because i ordered it.
Since most of my dealings with DVD Box Office involve pre-orders, I don't have any problems with them. On the few occasions I've ordered already released titles, I can't recall any delays. AB Sound are just as bad, and I've seen posts saying that the Canadian retailers are hit more badly when titles go out of stock due to the lack of distributors of discs there compared with the USA.
I think they're generally fine with mainstream titles. Anything more obscure or less popular is more likely to be delayed I guess because DVDBO, AB Sound, etc. won't want to have stock on hand they're not altogether sure of being able to sell.
I got city of lost children from movie tyme...
came in 5 days..... which I though was quite good...
I've had a GC game on order from box office for over 2 months now....
maybe one day it'll ship.......

On pre-orders they are fine.
I've experienced one or two delays with DVDBO but they have been a lot better in recent months. Ordered Project Gotham Racing for the Xbox and it was shipped within a day.
As far as games go could the additional printing of French instructions cause delays in DVDBO receiving stock from suppliers?

French instructions could be the problem with games, my Rogue Leader was the us version with a french bit stuck to the outside at the back.
I think basically they need to get their act together, I have had Eternal Darkness on preorder for two months, their site indicates that it was launched on the 12th Feb. If they bother to check they will see its not coming out till June now.
At least I got their Valentines Day flyer and not any info on my outstanding orders or any ETA's for their stock.
Dragon.ca are more expensive but at least they have stock levels, Don't know how accurate they are.
Anyone used dragon.ca?
there prices don't seem too bad....
and at least that attempt to suggest the stock levels??

Never had a problem with DVDBoxoffice with either older titles or pre-orders. The longest any of them have taken to arrive is two weeks. Having said this I do nothing but moan about them until they arrive. :D
