Philips sound probs!

I've got a Philips 28pw6305 and i'm having some strange sound problems!
When playing music from movies where the note seems to drag on (Saving Private Ryan eg) the sound seems to flutter like the volume is going up and down really quickly.
First i thought my DVD player was playing up but it started again tonight while watching The Fugitive.
Any ideas anyone?

I get this on my Philips when I have AVL (Auto Volume Level, I think) turned on. The effect gets worse when I have widened the sound using the I.S. button on the remote and when using the cinema profile on my tv. I think the AVL function only works at balancing high/low volume like you sometimes get in adverts. This may not be the same problem with yours.
