Buckaroo Banzai across the whatever....
What a pants film. I hadn't seen it before, so was expecting a mildly amusing cult '80s B-movie-stylee sci-fi flick along the lines of Last Starfighter, Cherry 2000 or Battle Beyond the Stars (all good discs BTW). Instead we got no plot, no characters, bad 'jokes' & John Lithgow - a killer combination if ever there was one. For bad '80s sci-fi, this ranks alongside Lifeforce, although that did at least have Mathilda May to look at ;)
I can't believe the guy who was responsible for this was the same one who wrote the original script for Big Trouble In Little China. Makes me respect John Carpenter just that little bit more.
The question is now, do I reconsider placing an order for Spacehunter?
