I know that there is a R1 DVD of 'The Andromeda Strain' floating around somewhere, but I don't know where to order it from. Can anyone help?:confused: :confused:

You should be able to get a copy on ebay for around $15-20.
It's a bare bones disc, mono, non-anamorphic, so a special edition would be nice.

don't know about the quality but its available here and there....

perhaps robert wise will have a hand in the SE like with ST:TMP.
and hopefully we'll see day the earth stood: SE, soon too.

I had the dvd, it's had a lousy transfer, in fact it looks like Universal used the old laserdisc transfer as they both share the same grainy under letterboxed picture 1:90:1, nowhere near the 2:35:1 it should be.

I'm counting the days until that SE arrives ,still no date though :(

Ive got the disc in question, and its one of my favourite films too :)

Agree the picture is not what it could be, but not that bad.

Cant wait for the SE though :clap:

I don't suppose anyone here likes Saul Bass' Phase IV?

Along with The Andromeda Strain, it's one of my all time fave intelligent science fiction movies.

I have a copy of Phase IV that I taped off tv on VHS. Agree its an excellent film, all those little ants taking over the world. Kinda scary really.

Same here. Not been on terrestrial TV for years as far as I know, although Sci-Fi showed it last year. I missed it through.

OMG...I haven`t seen that in years. Ok some of the SFX were a bit dodgy, (the sand-boat chase scene), but this is long overdue a release.
