At this price I'm not too bothered. I nearly paid £55 for it last week from ezydvd! Many thanks, op.

Should be noted that the 4th one is the theatrical version and not the YouTube edit with the swearing put in.

Trouble is I have 1 and 4 so £30 + customs is too much for completing the set.

I didn't.. fingers crossed for you, however even if you do get stung, it'll still be cheaper than other retailers, DVDCrave (who are normally very competitive and always custom-friendly) its around £54 for the set, so £30 is superb.

I could only find this review of the US Blu-Ray:
http://74.125.77.132/search?q=cache:Xcy7Ye4gs2UJ:bluray.highdefdigest.com/1105/diehardcollection.html+die+hard+blu+ray&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=9&gl=uk&client=firefox-a
Picture ratings:
My video score for the original 'Die Hard': 3 stars (out of 5)
An overall wash with its predecessor, 'Die Hard 2' earns a video score of 3.
All in all, 'Die Hard with a Vengeance' is a clear improvement over its predecessors, earning it a solid 4 star video rating.
The only deficiencies are a handful of scenes that break down under noticeable noise, at times resulting in oversaturated colors that only serve to increase the fuzziness. Still, these scenes are the exception to the rule, with the overall picture quality on this one earning it a robust 4.5 star video rating.

I'm with Psycho - mine turned up today with no hint of any customs charges(AFAIK).
The customs declaration on the front does show $AUD 59 - so there's no reason that customs couldn't decide to charge for it if the mood took them.

That's what I thought but when you receive a customs charge do you have to pay it before you receive the goods?
I had an item stop at customs and I had to pay before it would be delivered. That was for an item that cost £300 and was coming from the US.

Depends who delivers it - if it's the standard mail then you have to pay up front (if caught of course).
Fedex & UPS tend to invoice you a few weeks down the line.

...isn't the UK version of Die Hard 2 cut??
I thought it was Die Hard 3 (with a Vengance..) that was cut quite a lot, 1 and 2 were uncut on DVD, I've got the BD of Die Hard 2 UK but not watched it yet - '3' I bought from Oz but haven't watched it either only watched 1 and 4 on BD as yet!
2 is cut by 28 seconds, 3 is cut by 12 seconds according to the BBFC site... so I don't know. I've always owned the US DVDs (and before them the US LDs)
Point is, these BDs are the Australian ones and they ain't cut
I watched 'Die Hard 2: Die Harder' last night.
The picture quality wasn't as good as 'Die Hard' but still looks good for an 80s film. I spotted a few things I hadn't seen before - the lady of the plane sitting next to John's wife was reading a magazine with a full page 'Leathal Weapon' advert! :dork:
I thought there were a few scenes that were moire graphic than I remember... from my old VHS copy.
Not as good as 'Die Hard' but I still like it. No. 3 to come this week!

I think mine took longer than a week and half to arrive! :)
Last night I watched 'Die Hard with A Vengence'. The picture quality was better than the first two films and the sound was good.

Die Hard 2 was cut on VHS (and 15 rating) yes, but on DVD (a 18 rating) its been uncut and as far as I know the Bluray is also uncut in the UK - its certainly 18-rated too. I may have to watch it tonight just to be sure!

As I said, I haven't personally owned any UK Die Hard releases since I bought the US THX'd AC3 LDs. So I wouldn't know about their cut/uncut status (hence the BBFC check).
Either way, this set is half the price of the UK release and is deffo uncut so well worth a punt.

Annoying, but not the end of the world as I'd factored the possible customs charge in to the cost before deciding to buy it. What I dislike really is the £8 Royal Mail fee. I think that's a bit much on an item that incurred only £4.03 import VAT. I'd much prefer the option to pre-pay the VAT.

Hmmm, I was only really going for this because I don't really like the US packaging and would rather have each film in its own case, so I was essentially doing a straight swap (presuming and hoping I'd get the £30 back for my US set).
But if the Australian versions are cut........

Mine's just arrived 6 days after ordering. Came via the postman in a largish cardboard box (approx 2 x width of blu-ray disc case and 4 x disc case high). Mentions cd/dvd/video $AUD 60 on the customs label but no customs charge :)

The Oz versions are fully uncut. The only cut film in the UK is 3.
Mention of the extras seem to indicate that the US & Oz releases contain quite a few of the extras from the DVDs but it looks like the UK releases (of 1 & 2) are barebones.
Another reason to get the Oz release.
