Yes another thread. As much as i enjoy trawling through the net for reviews i thought i'd ask here.
Current i've got my sights on

Toshiba 210e ~£200
Pioneer 545 ~£250
Marant 4200 same as above
Panasonic RA61 ~£300

Tha panasonic has DVD Audio and is very cheap for DVD audio but i've heard somewhere that audio/video it doesn't compare to the previous model the RV-60

So is the picture/sound quality of the two £250 decks better than the Toshiba? And would they justify the extra £50.
I'd love to get a Toshiba 510 but i can't justify the cost so the lower end will have to do.

Help me dvd forums

I went for the pioneer and am very happy with it. The sound is superb as is the picture and the thing is just so nice looking. The only flaw I have noticed is the layer change which can be noticed on some disks, I've certainly not noticed it beeing as long as some have said though:D

Howdy lynx

Was your 210E a multi-region jobby.. if so where did you get it from :D
Also does anyone know how well it plays VCDs/SVCDs?

My other Pioneer 535 plays home made vcd's rather well.

Cheers

As i already have a multi region player this one is R2 only. It came from Costco.
It plays vcd's admirably.I can honestly say the machine meets all expectations.Unless you specificaly require multi region playback i would say at the price go buy it and enjoy. :)
