A word of warning to anyone who is thinking of purchasing the R1 Canadian version of The Sixth Sense: Vista Series
If you are picky about stickers on your dvds, don't buy it. The Canadian release comes with a big round sticker that reads "Version Française Incluse". Well, one can always remove it, right? Wrong. The damn thing is PRINTED, not glued.
Be warned...

Personally I wouldn't care, I don't buy dvds for their covers.

I don't think it's a big deal. It's a small thing after all, and hardly obvious when the disc is on the shelf, side-on. The discs are no different from the US release, and this is what really matters. So what if the packaging is different for the Canadians. R2 releases have different packaging from R1, by way of a 'huge' ratings sticker in various places. What difference does it make, as long as its subtle?

They could print the cover in Swahili for all I care. Canadian DVDs can be had significantly cheaper than from the US. As long as it's the same DVD, that's all that matters to me.

There is one on the Atlantis - Collectors Edition and the Peter Pan - Special Edition. A bit irritating, but as they are a fair bit cheaper from Canada, not that irritating.
...If this would bug you, remember that DVDBoxoffice, DVDImport, ABSound and Play all ship Canadian discs...to name but a few :)
I'll third the 'lighten up' message, i was quite irritated when i recieved my copy too as they usually just put removeable stickers on them...and of course the Vista edition has a new fancy package for the film.

Excuse me if i'm mistaken, but wasn't it you, SithLordSi, who sometime last year went throught all of your dvd collection to see if it was Canadian-free?!!! :D
Anyway, it's just a printed sticker. albeit an irritating one, considering its size in relation to the fancy artwork for this edition.
The purpose of my post was to inform people. Maybe for some of you it's a minor detail. But i'm sure there are a lot of people here on this forums that, given the option, would go for the sticker-free version.
Now, lighten up and go watch some dvds.
Cheers, Wolverine

That's nothing! The Canadian version of Captain Corelli's Mandolin has the title on the front and the spine in both English and French. (Quite large too)
I couldn't give a monkey's however, at least I get the disc for £15 and 6 weeks before it is released in the UK....a bonus in my book.

Indeed it was, but I've changed my attitude seeing as US discs are so dear now in comparison to Canadian ones. The Sixth Sense - Vista Series was the first package to grace my collection that was Canadian R1 only, and at first, like you, I was a little put off by the changes to the packaging. However, the alternative - going to Amazon.com or Inter-DVD and paying £5 extra, just to have a copy without this notice on - seemed really absurd when I stopped to think about it. But that's just my opinion. I'm sorry for sounding harsh, and appreciate that you were only providing people with useful info. I was simply putting my opinion forward.

SithLordSi,
No need to apologise, your opinion is appreciated. No problems here. I remember that old "Canadian R1" thread because i've learnt a thing or two from you concerning the differences between R1 USA and R1 Canada. :)
I too buy from Canada for economical reasons. Dv-Depot is the only shop that manages to avoid customs for me, so there you go. And DHL is just super-fast (well, most of the time anyway :D)
Peace, Wolverine
