For anyone handy for Liverpool there's a place called Tuebrook Market where a dvd stall has been going for a few years.well now the trader has started stocking blu-rays, from what i can remember today he had new & sealed copies of Iron Man,Narnia,Kung Fu Panda,Wall-E,Sex In The City at £9.99, Dark Knight & Rock N' Rolla at £12 and Casino Royale deluxe version at £8.there were a few others as well.Market's there on a thursday and Saturday though no doubt the guy goes to other markets during the week.

It does sound rather dodgy to say the least. Hooky DVDs in Bluray packaging would be my guess.

i don't think it's the "market trader" that we're stereotyping, it's the location.

It's obviously going to be difficult for the average person to know which trader is being referred to in the original post, so being from the same area I've taken his picture (http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/9206/chardelgj7.jpg) to help you find the right one. Enjoy those bargains folks!

The hookers they sell at my local market are nowhere near as hot as that.

They do sell ace airguns with laser sights and sniper scopes though.

Win some, lose some.

Sorry but the naysayers and doubters here do have a point...

You can write an m2ts file downloaded off the net onto a dvd5/9 disc so that it will play on a PS3/BD player in HD with surround sound. If all you are interested in is the piccy and dd5.1/DTS then you would have few complaints.

I did a quick check on newsgroups and all the films listed there are available in the correct file format and would all fit.

BD cases are 10 a penny.

This may well be a bargain as you say but a bit localised for the forums I thnk?

Or it could just be old unsold stock from Zavvi or somewhere. For the sake of 8 quid, they're more likely to be genuine than some elaborate forgery.

There was an expat originally from Liverpool and now living in Australia being interviewed on the radio this moring, talking about the bush fires etc.

If they had not said she was originally from Liverpool you would never have guessed.

See, they can be cured.

I've seen legit stuff on market stalls and car boot fairs before. Even bought the odd one.

But I am always a bit dubious and closely inspect items.

The ones I have picked up have always been legit.

Arent Blu-ray discs thicker and heavier than normal DVD's?

Should be quite easy to spot if it's a fake !

Dodgy Kev at Chester le st?

Last time I was there he was still flogging vhs!:D

Ste7en
14-02-2009, 19:14
Aye, one or two off him. I used to live five minutes away so it was 'too' handy at times, always worth a browse for the odd horror flick

I have picked some up at the Darlington and Stockton markets, Sedgefield and Houghton-le-Spring boot sales as well. Oh, and there is this guy who flogs DVDs in Durham outside of DSU on most Thursdays. He gets the odd BD on his stall.

I sound half pikey

tizza
15-02-2009, 07:57

Thats all it was, horror stuff, Ive been to the watford (and various other places it moved to) moviemart a few times with him. Shall have to pay him a visit next week.
