Just got back from Sainsburys with a shiny new Sony Nav-U NV-U82G GPS Device.

The price was marked down from £133.99 to £43.99 however with the VAT Reduction this went through the till at £43.05.

The device has a nice big 4.8" Screen which looks quite clear when the brightness is turned up. Comes with a windscreen mount and a pouch to carry the unit around in.

It comes with UK Maps, however the full European maps for this model are about £50 on the Sony online shop.

They had at least one left at Sainsburys in the White Rose Centre in Leeds this afternoon. Hope this is of use to someone.:D

According to Amazon customer feedbacks, this isn't Vista compatible, there are no map updates, and Sony have dropped further support for this model :suspect:!!

Vista, what is that? ;)

I can't see what the problem would be as the device uses ActiveSync to connect to a machine anyway.

Seems a better buy than the many unknown brands that are out there and it has a nice widescreen display. I would probably take the comments on Amazon with a pinch of salt and check them out in the flesh for yourself.

Ok, just checked this on the Sony site.

Apparently the unit wont work with Vista. Sony are planning on pulling out of the GPS market, however the map updates will be available to purchase for this model up until 2011. Given the price of the unit, I still think this is a pretty good deal.
