My daughter has a Toshiba Regza 42C3035D and recently bought a WD HD player and forgot to get a hdmi cable so I lent her one. Everything work perfectly till she bought her own cable which on plugging in didn't work with her TV. She tried the second hdmi connection and that didn't work either. So then she reconnected the original cable she got from me and that wouldn't now work in either socket. Two other hdmi cable have been tried since and neither of those work either. The TV was turned off every time she changed the cables. The WD HD Player and both cables work perfectly when connected to my tv.
Has anyone come across the problem and if so did you manage to correct it. I have posted this on another forum and it was sugested that she unplugs both item and leave for a while as this may be a HDMI handshaking problem and this could cure it but that didn't work.
I am going to try another couple of hdmi devices in tomorrow to see if the TV has developed a fault. If it turns out to be the TV and she cant used hdmi then is there any adapters which allow connecting the hdmi output from the player to either component or the Mini D-sub inputs.
Any help would be appreciated.
