Hi, I got my new Kef Q3 floorstanding speakers today, I looked at the connections on the back and wondered how do you plug banana plugs into them?

You can't mate. I've got the new Q7's for my front's. They only take cable, no plugs.
I got the place I bought the speakers from to throw in some speaker wire with caps at the end to give a good connection. At £800 for a set of speakers they didn't seem to mind the "sweetner".
Good luck.

What are caps

What they do is take the bare wire and solder a cap over the top of the wire so that it's not much bigger than the wire itself. They use this to keep the wire end a bit neater and IMHO gives a better connection.
Any AV Specialist will be able to supply you with some.

Hi, I sent Kef a e-mail and got the following reply,
Dear Sir,
All Q series speakers are 4mm banana plug compatible.

Well on mine there are no holes for the banana plugs. Maybe they're talking about a different set of plugs?
If not then I wouldn't know where to stick them!
Sorry guy.

I got my speakers from SuperFi as they did me a deal if I got all the speakers at once, anyway they did not have the center speaker in stock so I had it placed on order.
When I go to pick it up at the weekend I will ask the guy in the store how you plug in banana plugs into the terminal on the back of the speakers.

Imran_UK - Why not e-mail KEF back and ask them where the 4mm bananas are supposed to go?
