Nokia N85 GPS

Hi can anyone tell me if i have to pay to use the sat nav on the N85. I keep reading if i only use the maps but not the speaking bit its free but then other sites say different things.

Also not used to using a nokia so will i have to do anything else to it to get it working

Voice navigation be it driving or walking does cost. Here's a good page which shows what you do and don't have to pay for

With regards to using GPS. Just a case of firing up Nokia Maps which is installed on the phone, let it lock onto a satellite(s) and off you go.

You can also get google maps which is really good aswell

Just to point out that if you use assisted positioning it will use your data connection so if you don't have an unlimited data plan you will get stung.

Just seems to charge for the walk and voice bits on that site

You can turn off AGPS, well you can set nokia maps not to connect to the internet and just use GPS, which doesn't cost you anything.
