Although issued on laserdisc, the longer cut of Ransom has yet to be released on DVD due to Di$ney’s ridiculous rule about not releasing unrated versions. News here (http://www.r2-dvd.org/article.jsp?sectionId=2&articleId=3500) seems to indicate that a halfway decent version is being released with commentary but it seems to stop short of indicating if it’s the extended cut or not. I’d hope that the fact that Ron Howard’s doing a commentary would mean that it is the long version - Anyone know for sure?
Edit - Just noticed that the news from the link says it’s certified 15 which, unless the BBFC have taken a much more lenient attitude, would seem to indicate it is the shorter version - again. :(
