This years bargain off road lights are either the Tesco torches, or the DeallExtreme P7s. Although those look good, Iwould go for the others -cheaper (although only just for the P7) and outshine bike lights several times their price.

i used something almost exactly like this for offroad for a while. add a decent headtorch and its enough. if you are only doing easy routes, or just fire roads its more than enough. have since upgraded to ay-ups tho.

downside is the battery is heavy. list price is no way 100 quid tho - i think i only paid 40 from chain reaction when i bought a few years back. similar model is currently £55 on chain reaction, so don't think this is much of a bargain really:
