Can anyone confirm that orders of electical goods from within the EU (Germany) are exempt from all customs charges (VAT, import duty etc), irrespective of the value.

UK VAT and duty yes but you will have to pay German VAT.

Confirmed. Bought my VW10HT from Germany. Nothing to pay on the doorstep.

German VAT is at a lower rate (slightly) than ours, too. And prices are generally lower. No problems with electrical voltage. The only thing to watch for is TVs and VCRs - their TV transmission standard differs to ours, so anything with a tuner in it may not work.
