View Full Version : Can you play games for the Nintendo DS bought from the U.S. on a U.K. Machine???

As The title.

My GF saw some games on Amazon.com (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=25) and asked me if they can be played on UK machines. It dosen't say on the site and thought i would ask on here.

Yes you can, DS games aren't region coded! :thumbs:

All DS games will play on DS units from all regions. Region coding only applies to home consoles.

The only thing to consider is if you want to resell/exchange them, it'll be harder. Some shops (GAME, for instance) don't accept import copies.

FYI

Amazon.com don't usually ship games outside the US...

customs/admin fees/crappy exchange rate would be a worry if they do, though..!

There's three highly recommended on here who do ship over here. With the asian ones though, make sure you are ordering ones with english language if you need that :lol: They sell Japanese games too which aren't always in english.

At one time these were good for bargains, but now with the exchange rate, you're probably better just going to the local game shop or Amazon.co.uk (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=8) etc

i buy loads of US ds games - mostly from Play Asia (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=4), not for the price, but just as loads of games, the US gets months before us (pheonix wright, Professor layton). And generally the games inc post were about £25 so same as here.

I've had no issue selling them on afterwards, Just stuck them on Play.com (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=2) and mentioned in the listing that its the US version. it would prpbably be a lot harder to sell on Japanese games but i have never touched those versions.
