I have just finished watching the (R1) Dragonball Z season 1 box set, and oh my god, they have left the last epsode out at the end!! I know it was just a compilation of the first 8 DVD's, and the last episode was acrually on the beginning of the 9th DVD, but this is ridiculous, you cant sell a whole series box set with the last episode of the series missing!!! Surely they could have altered the 8th DVD to include the last episode couldnt they?? If not then they should have definately said this on the side of the packet! Its terrible!!! Isnt there some sort of petition that can be started? Im not sure how to set those things up, but is anyone else who bought this box set annoyed too??? :mad: :mad:
What language does the discs have, if its just english dub then thats about as good as it gets as they are edited to hell and back, if the jap language is on there then, hmmm not quite sure.

Yup its just english dub, no extras ot anything, and yes if it was any more edited there would be no footage at all

Its really really sad that they can edit about 10 episodes worth of footage from the original Japanese episodes.
Luckily most of this is from the first saga and the later ones arn't 'so' bad.
But this is however relative
Where can I get my grubby hands on this set and how much does it cost?
My friend asked me to find out as he's a hugh fan!:brickwall

Well I got mine in Suncoast for about £80. I think thats about $120? Im not sure. But annoyingly (lol) dvdexpress.com have it for $84.98. Thats about the chepest ive seen it :)

What is the appeal of Dragonball Z??
IMHO it's one of the poorest anime ever made! I've been trying to get into this via Cartoon Network, but it's frustrating in it's sluggish plot, poor dialog, cheesy characters and cheap animation! Oh well, each to it's own! After all, I like Tenchi Muyo!

I always considered the animation quite good considering how old it is. '89 it came out I think, but im not sure. But the dub in Tenchi? Lol its one of the worst Ive ever heard, I just want to put my fist through the TV every time I hear Ayeaka squealing at the top of her voice lol :D
And yeah, Dragonball Z officially wins the award for stalling the most out of any TV series I have ever seen, lol!!
But it was very satisfying when the annoying 5 year old alien was shot :clap:
But you have to admit, Ryoko's voice is DAMN sexy!!!

I really did HATE Tenchi Universe!! I couldnt stand it. Tenchi Muyo was quite good, but Tenchi in Tokyo was amazing!! I wish they would make a box set of that one!!

You practically the first person i've ever heard say that Tenchi in Tokyo is better then TU. The animation was poor beyond belief, and they didn't stay true to the characters.
They need to stop showing series on channels like fox and cartoon network, the total butchering of episodes makes people end up despising the series altogether, i personally hate anything that has tenchi, i think its the voices that makes me dislike it so much, DBZ is another one i cant understand liking so much, escaflowne on the other hand is class though.

Yeah escaflowne is great, I love the music (es-CA...flowne bum bum... es-CA... flowne), lol. And it has some surprisingly evil scenes it condering its on at half 5 on fox kids!! Like that small mad child, lol, who always screams when he fights and turns in to a girl... or something :P

Dragonball Z seems so slow paced as it is a 'mostly' direct conversion from the manga.
The anime has all the 42 volume manga in it which is why it is really really slow paced, its just the way the manga was written.

I saw the first episode of gundam 08th thingy, and didnt like it. But Mobile suit gundam wing, i love!! The ending was so good too, oh heero, your so mysterious!! :nuts: lol
Btw, althought dbz power up effect takes up 3 episodes, you have to admit, when they start fighting, it is damn good!! Freiza saga-- brilliant!! Didnt get boring for one epsiode!! Even though it was a full 26 episodes of fighting lol!!! (ok maybe 20 episodes, but still...)
