Canon 35mm f.2 question

I've got a Cannon 400d, and my friend offered to sell me his Canon 35mm f.2 Lens...

I'm just wondering what I can do with it... I mean what sort of use would I get from a fixed lens? I bought a 10-20 Wide Angle lens which I get some interesting pictures out of, and I've got a 80-300 for spying on things....

Just wondering really.

You'd have a faster lens at a useful focal length - more opportunities for creative depth of field etc.

With the larger aperture it could also prove useful as a general all-purpose lens for those occasions when you don't want to use a flash...
