As has been said they're made with actual Sanwa parts.

Their Global PR and Communications Manager Alex Verrey (yep Big Boy Barry!) have more or less asked people to give them a chance stating that Madcatz have moved in a new direction where they want to emphasis quality with top quality parts rather than how they used to be.

Whether or not this is true is another thing but I'll probably go for one of them Chun-Li pads.

The TE stick is supposed to be the nuts, and very easy to mod as well as it is all quick release connectors. There is a video on youtube with Seth Killian from Capcom showing of the stick, I will find the link latter as I am at work now.

It is expensive but a good quality stick is...well a good qulaity stick. Reviews and word of mouth from people who have used it at events have been very positive.

You can't really go wrong with anything made by Hori. Avoid anything with Nuby written on it, though.

The only trouble is trying to find places that still have stock of things like the 360 Hori DOA4 stick.

Honestly, unless you're really hardcore or a collector, you don't need to lash out £70+ on an arcade stick.

Nah, on PS3. I downloaded it last night and I'm loving it. The graphics are superb, I dig the remixed audio and it's still a joy to play. I'm gonna fit an octagonal restrictor plate (Sanwa, natch) to my Hori stick though, as I don't think the square one is helping me any. Or it could be that I'm just as rubbish at SF as I've always been. :lol:

Game also have a bonus chun-li figure if ou preorder in store.

Trust me, it DIDN'T ship from Shopto on Monday.

Although some of the preorders were processed (due to the large number they had), NONE of the stock left the premises until Today Tuesday 17/2/09 as the stock didnt come in to give sufficient time to ship any, before the Royal Mails last collection time at 5.30 pm.

I picked mine up personally today and had a chat with Igor who confirmed the above, as did a post on their customers forum.

Hope the Royal Mail comes through for you on Wednesday.:)

I spoke to a guy at Madcatz today, I'd ordered a TE stick through them and there was a problem with my card (which is basically that Nationwide are a bunch of idiots and can't get my address right) he said anyone who ordered with them has one, 100% sure, they didn't take 1 order more than the stock they physically had.
He also told me that when they offered it to retailers in September only 1 said they'd stock it, so they were actually taking a risk making 3000, but once it started getting attention and winning awards everyone wanted it. He said he reckoned Amazon could have sold 20 times the stock they've been given.
New units are in production, they placed orders for parts in January, but the turnaround to them actually hitting shelves is around 3 months.

got my ryu pad. the thig itself is not bad but i dont like the d-pad at all. they have tried to allow for the d-pad to be used as an analogue stick as well and by doing that they have had to allow for a large range of movement in it for obvious reasons. this makes it a lot looser and a lot further to travel than i would like and i find it difficult to pull of moves accurately or quickly with it. i havent tried my standard pad on sf4 yet but i think i am going to prefer it as the d-pad is a lot tighter with a much smaller range of movement.

I got the Arcade Fightstick from GAME yesterday. It’s really good actually, and more than happy with that over the Tourney one (which I couldn’t get…)
Only have a couple of confusions with it…
1) You can switch between the stick controlling the D-pad, Left Stick or Right Stick. If I put it on left stick tho, it wont work in the dashboard menus etc (it will still control the character), tho works fine with it on D-pad.
2) The turbo buttons work fine, but when turning it off, I always have to do it twice… It flashes on the first press, but stays on, then I have to do it again to turn it off…
Otherwise tho, really happy with it (apart from the fact that I’m pretty rubbish at the game!!)

Anyone know how to select an opponent from your friends list?


EDIT: Incidentally, anyone got any additional orders in for the standard stick? I want to get a second one now...

I ditto that. VF was great!!!! Although, I was also a great fan of the King Of Fighters series too. The PSP version is very faithful, but near impossible to play properly with the cruddy directional buttons!!! :( Lol.

It is frustrating playing the same Shoto fighters, but fireball spammers can be easily beaten. I am a big Virtua Fighter fan as there is a grace an elegance to that game that is unsurpassed, but Street Fighter is the daddy, it's so deep an multi-layed, it can become a high speed rock-paper-scissors or a tactical chess like game setting traps and anticipating the next move... It can be a button masher if you want, but there is way more than that to it.

The only problem with them is that its a six button layout (with the other two stuck at the top), where as the new ones have an eight button layout.

The EX2 is pretty decent, was using one at the weekend versus the new tournament edition stick though and it's not in the same league, but then you wouldn't expect it to be for the price. Those extra 2 buttons really do help though, are there any other sticks with the 8 button layout?
