samsung 511 will it play cd-r

Hi can someone tell me if the samsung 511 can play cd-r or cd or cd-rw as i tried to makr copys of some vcd discs and my dvd player says no disc loaded when i try to play them .vcd play ok or is there a hack which could make it play cd-r

What the hell is the 509? I thought there was a 709 and a 909?

It appears from Vcdhelp.com that this struggles to play cdr and only plays some brands.
The Princo appears to be the best bet. Most Datasafe are actually Princo in disguise, if that helps you.
