As a life long fan of The Prisoner this is really sad news...

I'm gonna watch an ep tonight and raise a glass to the man behind one of the best tv shows of all time.

RIP Number Six.

EDIT - And now Ricardo Montalban has gone too (http://trekmovie.com/2009/01/14/ricardo-mantalban-has-passed-away/)

Sad news indeed - a great mind who brought us some fantastic (and at the time, challenging) television.

I know he wasn't young - but I am completely numbed by this sad, sad news.

A unique and very talented man.

Very very sad, one of my fave actors. The Prisoner is one of my all-time fave shows (I go to Portmeirrion nearly every year), brilliant in Braveheart, Scanners, Escape from Alcatraz, Columbo and was even in an episode of the Simpsons.

The question is did he use his last breath to spit at William Shatner?

He was 61 when he did Wrath of Khan too, so a bloody good innings I'd say.

Both will be much missed.

A great body of work Mr McGoohan left behind. He oozed a slimey, superior charisma in his bad guy roles and was an unflappable hero in The Prisoner (one of the all-time great TV shows).

Be seeing you!
