Obviously although released in the USA UK version still not finalised!

When do the BBC actually finalise UK versions?

Does the R1 have both commentaries?

The usa version has Stockard Channing down as narator , with Branaugh down for the UK version, no mention of how many audio tracks there are though.

For what it's worth, I have heard from a reliable source that there are no commentaries on this release.

Do you mean no narration?

Walking with Beasts had 2 different narrations available when on SKY Digital - I don't know if these would be classified as commentaries or as narrations.

Guess who doesn't have SKY (the answer is me :().

Ummm - all I know is that the main Branagh narration used for the terrestrial broadcast is the one that will appear on the BBC's release (as per Walking With Dinosaurs and Big Al).

The BBC site does eventually let you mail queries via an html form after making you check the entire site to see if your question has been asked before. I queried a release date and got passed to the BBC Shop, where some bod mailed me three days later saying he didn't have a Scooby Doo.

Hence to query the technical aspects of what is on the disc has about as much chance of being answered as me going home to find that my missus has bought me the new Panny projector as an early Valentines gift. (this is highly unlikely BTW)

Better off looking at release information on retail sites TBH, but you might get lucky.

It was the second series of 'This Life' BBC legal drama. The reply I got was titled 'The Life' for starters  and commented on distribution rights - and it was quite evident that said Beeb employee had looked through their current dvd list and realised that it wasn't there. Given that the first series is available on DVD one might have thought that they would have more of an idea but

While the response may have been incorrectly titled, it was correct re distribution rights. You won't get a straight answer on this title because it's a 'rights' nightmare.

Getting back to "Walking with Beasts" the best price I've found is £17.99 from either Play or Under18.

Really :( My mistake then, but I guess you can see why I was a little cynical upon receiving the reply as the header was incorrect :)

I wrongly assumed that the whole series was under one agreement, and thus thought a release date might be forthcoming soon, especially as the whole lot is available on v (shudder) hs.

I guess you never know these days though, ie: Die 1 + 2 vs Die Hard 3.

So the latest on this is that there is no info really.

Thanks for the info thus far anyways.

Cheers,

Charlie

I'd love to know the reasoning behind renaming this "Walking With Prehistoric Beasts" in America - was this just in case the Americans weren't quite sure what type of beasts would be on the show - don't worry folks...they're extinct!!! :)
