The weakest episode so far me thinks.
Renee going all CTU on the shooter doesn't feel right somehow, also I doubt that she would have really got information out of him.
Also Jack beating up two guys and then threatening to kill one of them is convincing of loyalty - how? That bit just didn't make sense.
And the whole plane thing, do we really care if he jumps his wife to the front of the queue? Is this a bit of human interest in the story line?
Why does the President have a dilemma? Clearly she has put her voter's lives ahead of thse in Sengala, she may feel regret but she has no choice.
It certainly wasn't as good as episode 3 but it was still worth watching.
There's a chance the plane Fed might have doomed his wife if they decide to strike at the first plane landing.
Bill's gone a bit nuts as he's happy to sacrifice everyone to get the result he needs.

Agreed weak episode and the less said about the explanation for Tony's amazing Lazarus act the better.
Watchable but not as good as the previous weeks. I don't want to say it but it seems we're already falling into some classic 24 staples. Jack undercover with the baddies - Season 2. President being threatened by Terrorists. Every season. Political side plot which is dubious - check.
I'm still really enjoying it, don't get me wrong. 24 is like comfort food but the first three hours were amazing and the fouth was a little procedural.
Disappointed that Tony actually was a terrorist. Hope they delve into this more. Why? After Season 5, Logon was gone and Palmer was back in the white house. I also fear it means he is for the offing sometime this season - can he be completely redeemed now? We don't know what he did but he said it was pretty bad. Do I buy the change - I guess so, wife killed by US government, best friend sat in a Chinese prison I can see why he'd be ******. Hope (and I'm sure we will) we hear more about over the season.
Nice to have Bill and Chloe back and the FBI bits are still pretty cool. Basically they've had a strong start to the season I only hope they capitalise on it and throw us some good twists. Season 6 started strongly too before it became apparent they were making it up as they went along. They've had two years, I hope they've put the story right and centre.
Oh and don't dismiss this magic serum, 24 must be set in something like 2020 by now!
Edit - Did anyone else catch the cool shout out to West Wing's Sam Seaborn....
Is Lord Marshalls driver a bit dodgy?

I dunno but that bird he was eyeing up is of equal chubby-worthyness to Freckles.

Bit meh, this one. Aside from Tony actually being REALLY EVIL (in the past, so that's all hunky dory), the only other point of note was the Columbo coat being relegated to a wheelie bin (:(),
Methos is as watchable as ever as Emerson (although they clearly wrote him in as British because his US accent is ****), but Yoga Bill seems to be channelling Stephen Saunders with his black tops and bluetooth-enabled pacing around.
Quite impressed with Renee's character so far though, but I hope we get some explanation as to why she suddenly went mental in the room. Perhaps she's the president of the Bauer fan club.
Other than that, it was 24 by the numbers. Blatantly obvious dodgy aide? Check. Someone stuck in a concrete safe room? Check. Blah, blah, blah. Episode 4 of series 6 was outstanding, but it went downhill thereafter. I'm hoping this is a blip in an otherwise excellent series so far.
Bingo time (sorry Chloe, even using TWO Apple laptops simultaneously doesn't make me want to buy one):

Jack Bauer kill count (so far): 0.5
Episode rating: 6/10
Best moment - the excellent West Wing "Gage Whitney Pace" reference which Littc pointed out. :dork:
We haven't had one Jack kill yet? Poor show. By this point in Season 6 Jack had already shot and killed his partner. So expect him to turn up soon then...
I enjoyed that West Wing reference :D Not as good as the previous 3 , but still highly entertaining. Not worried about the future of the season at all as it stands.
Watched all four episodes, back-to-back last night. Very good start, each new episode was better than the previous, but peaked with the superb ep.3 & the following episode being the poorest.
Tony's resurrection explanation was poor but I do like the fact that he did go Bad for some time.
It's a bit worrying that the theme of the season seems to be "Torture is great, let's show those liberal lefties that stopping us kneecapping people is political correctness gone mad!!!!!"

I'm not quite sure that's the message they want to get across. I've always thought it was just "When you're dealing with people like this then just asking questions won't work" at least that's the way I look at it. When they just start torturing regular people then fair enough but at least the show has made an effort to point out that not everyone agrees with Jack's methods (Though obviously he's going to be proved right).
Still I'm not sure how I feel about this Season. The first 3 episodes were great and while 4 wasn't bad, its serving as a warning sign. We got a mole (Of course, though this time it seems multiple ones, an infestation if you will), we have a rehash of Season 4's First Lady with the First Man (Undoubtedly there's going to be a point where he loses the proof, no one believes him etc ) and to top it off one of the villains is the guy out of the old Sega Megadrive advert.
Keen to know what happens now to the Presidents hubby now that he has that USB stick. The secret service agent clearly has some sort of hidden agenda.
We just need Audrey Raines to make an appearance now and it'll be back the usual 24 crew.

Is it, yet again, the ONLY COPY 11111111111111!!!!!!!!!!!!!! of the incriminating files? Don't these dodgy types ever think of making a backup?

I want more 24 to watch tonight! Dammit Fox!
It's a bit worrying that the theme of the season seems to be "Torture is great, let's show those liberal lefties that stopping us kneecapping people is political correctness gone mad!!!!!"
I'm surprised that they didn't use Renees first attempts at torture to show that it isn't always reliable.

But they aren't doing it to people from the middle east (yet), so it's ok. I think them's the rules anyway!
Still the best show on tv by a mile, though! Thank god its back!

It's a bit like they've just done a William Burroughs style cut-up of all the previously used 24 plots.
Fun episode by episode, but very "meh" as a whole...
I'm surprised that they didn't use Renees first attempts at torture to show that it isn't always reliable.
I'm surprised she didn't walk away with a damp patch on her crotch.
Why has the British ex-SAS guy got an American accent?? Did they not tell the actor he doesn't need to put on an accent?
All the President stuff is rubbish. Calling the FBI office every 5 minutes for an update, baddies expecting the US Marines to stand down from being invasion ready within an hour. Being tied to real time isn't working.
But despite all that to my surprise I'm enjoying it.

.
I commented on this to the wife.... I'd have thought it's pretty much to be imperative to be British to be in the SAS?

To be fair, some people pick up accents quite quickly. I remember watching an interview with Jan Molby about 12 months after being signed to Liverpool and he had one of the thickest Scouse accents I have ever heard.

Have'nt we had the shadowy politician and jack going off the grid yet, and is'nt the secret service guy following the presidents husband the weasily government agent?
At this rate a new Bingo card will be needed..
Also at a geek level, this is the second series of 24 that has had fun with firewalls. The reality is, is that these sorts of places use multiple, redundant firewalls from different manufacturers and don't go anywhere near a public network to stop exactly this sort of thing. I know it's only pretend 24, but it kinda irritates my inner nerd.
I'm surprised that they didn't use Renees first attempts at torture to show that it isn't always reliable.
Was I the only one who thought that this was exactly what they were trying to show?
She pressed her gun into his wounds, then had to stop and turn away to regain composure. And at that point the guy was still refusing to cooperate.

well something worked. Maybe after torture she tried the opposite, a blowie from her I would tell anything.
Going to be quick tonight because I've got to go to work in 10 minutes.
1). Good to the ol' team of Jack, Tony, Chole and Bill back together. I half expected David Palmer to walk in.
2). Chole is a super-babe
3). Sean Callery's music so far this season is his best work on the show yet.
4). If there's only one thing I didn't like about this is that we weren't told how Chole and Bill got involved are even what they've been up to since leaving CTU. How can they all be working on their own? Hopfully, that'll come up soon......
Other then that, it looks like "24" is back on top form.
We haven't had one Jack kill yet? Poor show. By this point in Season 6 Jack had already shot and killed his partner. So expect him to turn up soon then...
As far as I can tell, he shot one of the innocent bodyguards of the guy they're trying to kidnap.
I very nearly switched this episode off (or at least FF it). That's a first for 24, no matter how much it's annoyed me in the past.
Right now I don't give a stuff for any of the characters as they've all gone far beyond reasonable behaviour - Freckles (with the weird cheek implants) has gone from defender of the rights of man to torturer in less than 4 hours, Soul Patch apparently committed atrocities in the past, the president is useless and is hiding stuff about her son's death from his father and Jack's gunning down people who are just doing their job.
It's a bit worrying that the theme of the season seems to be "Torture is great, let's show those liberal lefties that stopping us kneecapping people is political correctness gone mad!!!!!"
Is it just me, or is this the most right-wing 24 to date?
There's also no mention of the fact that the US appear to be unilaterally invading an African state! Only Fox would promote that as a good idea I guess.
EDIT: And if I had that sort of explosive evidence on a memory stick, I'd immediately send it to as many news organisations and websites as I could. Why these idiots keep it to themselves is a constant mystery.

My only real gripe with this episode (yes, I'm a bit behind) was...
In the previous episodes, Tony had said that he had a team ready for the next job, but didn't know what it was yet - right?
And in this episode, the smarmy english baddie only told them in that basement what the job was, e.g. to snatch the african goodie guy
So how the hell did the shooter in the hospital know this? Did he pick it up by ESP?
Plot-hole-tastic IMHO :(
Otherwise, keep it coming :)
