Just a heads-up that this 6 episode series starts on FX tomorrow (Monday 12th) at 11pm.
Never seen it personally, but given it's a David Simon written & produced show very much in the vein of The Wire, i'll be definately watching

It's brilliant, just take a shot of vodka everytime a The Wire actor appears!

I want to watch this, but I'm not sure I can purposfully inflict the stupid woman doctor from CSI miami on myself. no matter how good the programme is, I'll be sat there waiting for her start talking in her stupid voice to dead bodies.
Shame. Maybe i can fastforward through her scenes?

D'oh! Only just saw this. Never mind, moving house & losing Sky1 in a couple of weeks anyway, & I got the book for Christmas so will work through that first.
But it's good to see The Wire is having a ripple effect of bringing things like this back (albeit, being on FX). Maybe they'll eventually be big enough to get Dominic West his Wire film!
WHOOPS!
I forgot:doh:
Ill have to check if FX show it again this week, hopefully on FXHD?

Missed it too damn anyone know when it's repeated?

Finished watching this tonight. Obviously not as long or established as The Wire but still excellent in its own right. Interesting to see the real life characters at the end too.

Is baby in it? :p
Sorry, couldn't resist.
I finished watching the whole 6 episodes last night. What a depressing series this is and so much darker than The Wire. I think in The Wire, the depressing scenarios were broken up with some comedic moments, but in The Corner it was relentless.
It's well made and contains some good characters, but I'd had enough of it by the end.

I really enjoyed it, but Christ, so depressing!
Finished watching The Wire last weekend and started/finished The Corner this week. I really enjoyed it - despite the depressing storylines - and as Alastair mentioned it was interesting seeing the real life characters at the end.

I thought the same. Finished the series tonight and between eps 4 and 5 I was looking at my watch a lot, but it was saved by an absolutely devastating last 30-45 mins. It was really nice to see a ton of Wire references:
- Fran and Omar sure do like their Nuport cigarettes.
- Bubbles' Cart was in here!
- All the comments over D'Andre's dreadlocks were echoed with Naymond in Season 4.
- I lost count of the number of Wire characters I saw.
