With the exception of The Avengers I don't think our Jim (http://us.imdb.com/Name?Broadbent,+Jim) has made a bad film. Highlights include Iris, Little Voice, Moulin Rouge and my favourite Life Is Sweet.

So, whats your opinion? (Mods, please move if wrong forum) ;)

Superman IV: The Quest for Peace - from IMDB.

Bullets Over Broadway. Along with The Mighty Aphrodite, Allen's worst. He got the part on the basis of Life is Sweet in which Broadbent is magnificent.

I'm sure if I did the IMDB bit there'd be a bunch but it's been a good year for him (haven't seen Iris yet). He's favourite to win Best Supporting Actor isn't he - although I think Ben Kingsley should get it for Sexy Beast from what I've seen so far.

He was the original choice for Del Boy in Only Fools but I can't remember why he didn't play the part in the end (he appeared in a few epsiodes I think).

The Avengers

Edit - was meant to be a list here other than the Avengers.

Rough Magic

Bullets over Broadway. Mmmm while certainly not Allen's best film, I don't think it can be classed as bad. Some good performances and a fairly witty script make this fun to watch.

Bridget Jones Diary is a particularly rancid piece of work, but none of the blame can fall at Broado's feet, I feel.

UNLIKE!
Horrible tv show The Peter Principle, in which he is the lead, and hence should be whipped until suitably penant. :D

Was he not also suppose to play Del Boy from the start but turned it down (or couldn't do it)??

He was in the running when they were originally looking for the actor to play Del. He turned the part down, but I can't remember why.

I think he didn't want to be in only fools for too long. Just a couple of series.
