Is anybody else stil in the position that they have not received their DVD box sets from last year?

They always manage to get the monthly catalogue to me
they have never replied to any of my emails
they only delivered one out of the four box sets

Am thinking about issuing a small claim against them for breach of contract, just wondered if anyone else had resolved the matter.

I don't want to have to buy 6 full price recordings when they have not kept up their side of the deal

Signing up for Britannia is at first appealing but as the months go on it becomes tedious in keeping up with their 'business practises' (ie. recommended recordings). I would say that in the long run I've saved slightly over high street prices, but its a lot of hassle for little savings. Get rid of them as soon as you can and stick to internet shopping, its a LOT cheaper.

Anyways, back to your prob - If you havn't recieved any items from Britannia, mail (or phone) them saying that you've checked at the post office, ect, ect, (they always ask stuff like that) and then they'll replace it or cancell your bill for it as the postage and package fees include INSURANCE (it states on the back of the catalogues).

As for dropping the contract with them - not sure about that. Sorry.

well I can remember warning people about this last year (pity the threads won't still be onthe server :( ) - the people that joined thought they were gettting a bargain and they could get out quick - NOT THAT SIMPLE.

I have first hand experience with them and a long battle before I won. Stay clear.

surely they are in breach of contract. Send them a recorded letter informing them you will keep unsolicited goods.

through sheer frustration and not backing down, in spite of strongly worded letters from them.
I didn't pursue it through the courts or hire a solicitor - why should I have to pay for their constant cock ups.

Good luck with your quest tho ...

Same here - lots of calls but no progress. Got one boxset + a lot of hassle.

Then cancelled by phone - they said a charge was payable, and I told them I'd already spent £3 on calls to an 0845 number, and the service they'd given me was crap. Agreed to cancel then, but never did it.

Then emailed them - said cancelled on x/x/01 , account still active on line, any further items received will be allowed 30 days for collection then treated as a gift under distance selling regulations. A very strong email - and finally got a letter saying ok, as long as I clear the account (£18 for kubrick boxset :) )

so lots of hassle, but a bargain in the end.

Well, the saga continues....

My wife (a solicitor, which is nice :D ) sent them a letter informing of my intent to take them to small claims:

The wrote back saying that they had never accepted my application (a bit strange as they have already sent out one box set!)
The will also "vigorously defend" any court action

We gave them a further 7 days to reconsider their position, them we issue on them.

It is now a point of principle more than anything, so wish me luck....The worst that can happen would be a cost order of about £100 against me, but that is highly unlikely. :argue:
