View Full Version : will dvdr's work ok on a dvd player ?
i was just wondering do dvdr's work ok on a dvd player ?
Mine isn't cdr/cdrw compatible so would this make a difference ? (even though dvdr's and cdr's are different types of media)

More of a hardware related question really.

Depends. I have a Panasonic DVD-Recorder. Once the disk has been finialized, technically it should play on all DVD players but my experience this is not the case. They work on my Sony 725D but not on my dad's LG-4710. It may also be down to the type of media you record on.
My 4yr old Pioneer 505 won't play CD-R but plays DVD-R no problems!?
My sisters Smasung 709 won't.
Mum and Dads Matsui 110 will.
Nan and Grandads Proline will.
About all I can tell you. Try VCDHelp (http://www.vcdhelp.com) and run a search on the player you want to know about and it will tell you what it will/won't play.
