i am thinking of buying a davis50 with the S AIR so the 2 rear speakers will become wireless.
by connecting the 2 rears the the S AIR module will that leave 2 connections left on the subwoofer where i can connect 2 more small sony speakers??

The DAV-IS50 is a 5.1 all-in-one surround package - you can't add extra speakers to it, as there's no additional decoding (- I don't think the SS-IS15 speakers are available separately anyway). With the S-AIR receiver installed, it replaces the rear surround speaker connections once paired.

As it lacks surround audio over hdmi, you would connect the PS3 via optical digital connection.

Bear in that that over optical, you do lose out on decoded 'hd' audio; that said, the core Dolby Digital and DTS surround can still sound pretty good.
