Connecting to XBOX live problems!

I'm having problems connecting to xbox live. When i run the connection test on the xbox i keep recieving IP failed. I searched the internet to see where i'm going wrong and to be honest i'm getting confused. Can anyone help me resolve this? I'm connecting directly to my PC and using ICS.

Has it ever worked, has something changed?

Is ICS (sharing) actually switched on? I use ICS via PC and had a few problems before but always managed to resolve them. Also try turning your firewall off (just as a test) in case thats causing a conflict somewhere.

If you have made any changes to your PC and are not sure what do a system restore to a date they it was last working.
