View Full Version : want to get a C905 (SE). anyone here have the phone? also, how are O2?
newbie to this part of the forums, so be gentle :p
virgin dont seem to be getting this phone in, so i'm thinking of getting it from O2. £30/month for 18months via CW
anyone able to report any bugs and such with the phone? or poss issues with O2s firmware on it? i know vodaphones firmware for this phone is awful (thread on their forums).
ta people :)
no one here have a c905 with O2?
I had one for a couple of weeks.
No issues with O2 but couldn't get on with the form factor of the phone. Don't think sliders are for me as I kept cutting off calls with a bit of pressure from my ear (I think you can turn off answer/hangup using the slide though).
Only other issues I had were the lanyard loop would cut into my little finger when using the phone and the GPS didn't seem to work (and google maps had been removed by O2 and the downloaded version wouldn't support GPS on that phone).
I still love sonys though and ended up with an xperia x1.
i dont mind sliders, my fav nokia phone had one.
a mate at work has the x1 but tis not my style of phone.
i do wonder though if i used that davinci thing to debrand the phone, that those issues you mentioned would be fixed. a lot of probs with phones does seem to come down to the lack of effort put into the branded firmware

would stay clear of this for the time being as we have a massive return rate on these there is a problem with the speaker.... it just gives up after a few weeks
I've had mine for just over 2 weeks, seems fine at the moment but the first thing I did do was debrand mine. Fingers crossed it doesn't pack up.

I work for a phone shop and with the amount we've had back as faulty, I wouldn't recommend it personally. It's a real headache at the moment.
well, bit the bullet and went for it. i like it so far. just need wait now for orange to send me my PAC via snail mail (why not tell me over the phone, or email it to me ffs).
here's hoping i havent made a mistake.
now off to order an 8GB M2 card off the bay
Man, this is depressing. The G900 is getting awful reviews (and actually hasn't even appeared available for any contracts) and now it seems the C905 is a bit rubbish too. The X1 is now the only phone that's actually noticeably better than my trusty W810i, it seems, and it's wildly expensive.
i didnt like the x1 from what i've seen it
i like the c905 though :)
Me too, I came from a 2G Iphone too.
So far the 905 has stood up to the abuse, including knocks and -15 temps in the Alps when I was snowboarding.
To be honest I don't really like any of the current crop of SE phones.
I'd like something that is like the G900 (but without the apparently buggy software) but including GPS and the really fast internet service. Oh well... :(

the o2 forums has a lot of info about this phone.
also, are you going with cpw for a free gift or something? if not wouldnt o2 direct online tariffs be better?
i have a k850i now after having had a k810i (I think) after having a k750i before that.
im really bored of SE lol.
anyway, worth looking at the forums as loads of people seem to have problems with the phone, certainly by the look of it anyway.
I take it back, my C905 is going back to o2 tomorrow as I now can't hear the other person unless I put the phone on speaker.
