IT Crowd DVDs - censored?

Was watching the first and second series on DVD recently and I noticed that a lot of the swearing was beeped out. I don't remember that being the case when it aired (certainly the recent third series had a sprinkling of f-words).

Did they censor the DVD release??

The first series had a scene where part of the joke was a character standing off screen pressing a button on the wall the bleep out swear words that Chris Morris's character was saying, you do eventually see the character and I don't think he catches the last f word in time so gets fired or something. Can't remember much else about the episode but that is how it was aired and I guess as the bleeping is part of the joke it's kept intact for the DVD release. Don't remember hearing any other bleeping but it's been a while since I saw it.

I've watched the first 3 or 4 episodes of the second series. The funeral scene where Roy thinks he's having a heart attack (but is actually the pimped-up vibrate on his phone) has him bleeping a lot. There's also a scene in the episode with the German cannibal where Jen swears at the Soviet character after walking for miles to get to a smoking area which is bleeped out.

Maybe it's because I'm still remembering the scene from the third series where Matt Berry turns around and tells the faith group to f... off with no bleeping :lol:

I've got the episodes from when they were first aired and I've just checked the funeral/heart attack scene and it is indeed bleeped out.
